After Y/N and I woke up, we both made breakfast for the kids before dropping them off at School. Luckily, Y/N and I both have off today. She has to drop some stuff off at work and I am running on a secret errand. I am going to speak with my parents and talk to Cait about some things. I want to make sure everyone know how much Y/N means to me.
"What are you going to do while I'm dropping stuff off at work today babe?"
"Well, I need to hit the grocery store and meet with my Outset team!"
"Okay babe, well have a good day, I'll text you when I'm on my way home! I love you."
"I love you too Y/N."
I kiss my sweet girl goodbye as she heads out the door. I feel bad for lying about what I'm going to do, but I need this to be a secret.
**Text**
Scarlett: Hey Cait, are you ready to meet up? Still good to meet at your place? I'll bring the Starbucks!
Cait: YESSSSS!!! Come on over whenever. I get the same thing as Y/N at Starbucks!!
Scarlett: Perfect! I'll be there in 20 min.
I make my way down to the Starbucks and order two venti salted caramel cold brews!! Luckily Cait doesn't live too far away.
I'm a little nervous to talk to Cait. After my talk with Y/N about her family, my heart hurt so much for her. I know Cait and Y/N have been best friends since the 5th grade and Cait is Jay's aunt. She is the only real family Y/N has, apart from me.
"Hey you made it!" Cait shouts from her front door right as I pulled up!
"Of course, I did. I love that Y/N turned the both of us onto these Starbucks drinks!" I laugh as I hand her the drink!
"Come on in. I'm really glad you reached out; you can always come and talk to me!"
I follow Cait into her cute little house, and I can feel my nerves starting to skyrocket. What if she doesn't like me and Y/N together? What if she thinks what I'm asking is stupid? What if she won't help?
"Hey, you okay?" Cait asks as she rests her hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I just need to ask you something and I'm a little nervous."
"Well, spit it out." Cait laughs.
"I know Y/N and I haven't been going out that long, but I love her so much, and Jay. They have become my family and I never felt this way before. I know my history isn't the best, but I mean it when I say this is different. I never knew I love like this was real. I see the rest of my life with her and I want to make her the happiest person in the world. Cait, I want to ask Y/N to marry me. And soon. I want to make us all a family. Jay calls me mommy and Rose calls Y/N mama. I've never felt this happy. I know Y/N isn't close to her family, but you are her family so I'm asking for your blessing." I lay it all on her, not even looking at her. When I finally look up, Cait has tears in her eyes.
"Oh my gosh. Did I do something wrong? Are you okay Cait?" I run over to her.
"You want to marry Y/N and you asked me for my blessing?" Cait finally responds.
"Well, yes." I didn't know what else to say.
Cait jumps up from her seat and has a huge smile on her face. "Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes! Y/N loves you so much and I've never seen her this happy. You have my blessing, or whatever it is your supposed to say!" Cait exclaims as she continues to jump around excitedly.
"Yes, thank you so much! I want to plan a surprise. I was going to involve the kiddos, but I don't know if they will be able to keep it a secret. What do you think?" I ask Cait.
"We can involve the kiddos. Jay is good a secret keeping and I'm sure he will help his little sister make sure it's perfect. Do you have a ring yet? Cait spits out.
"Yeah, I do. It's being fit to her size now. Do you want to see it? I know Y/N isn't the super girly type so I hope this ring is perfect for her." I ask Cait as I pull my phone up to show her the picture.

I show Cait the ring and now it is very silent. She keeps zooming in and making faces. I swear I'm getting more and more nervous by the second.
"Okay, you're freaking me out, can you say something already?" I pester Cait to answer.
"Scarlett, she is going to love this, it's perfect! Now let's plan this engagement" Cait rushes over and gives me a giant hug.
Cait and I spend the next hour planning the engagement. I messaged Y/N to see how her day is going and she let me know she would be later than planned. That worked out perfectly, because I will be picking up the kids and speaking to them about our plan! The more Cait and I get the details down, the more excited I am getting. I hope she says yes.
By the time Cait and I finished planning, it was time to pick up Jay and Rose! I drove to the school with my nerves picking up again. I know they both said they wanted us to be a family, but this would make it real and I'm nervous they might take what they said back.
As I'm waiting in the pick-up line, I can see Jay walking with Rose, being an amazing big brother to her. Seeing that, calmed me down a little bit.
"Hey kiddos, how was school today?"
"It was good mommy, where is mama?" Jay asks.
"She had some stuff to drop off at work and is running a bit late. Which actually works out, because I have something I want to talk to the two of you about."
"Is everything okay mama?" Rose asks worried.
"Everything is perfect Rose. You know how much I love Y/N and the two of you. Well, I want to become a real family. I want to ask Y/N to marry me. What do you guys think about that? Would you be happy" I ask the two while facing them.
"Yes, yes, yes!!" They both shout at the same time.
