Chapter 29

a/n hey guys, sorry about not publishing, I just made a big move across the country and it took a lot out of me with a new job and school. I hope this chapter makes up for it.

Scarlett POV:

After I let the kids know the plan, the giggled all the way home about their roles in my proposal to Y/N. Jay kept laughing and saying that Y/N is going to pass out or be jumping up and down like a kid on a sugar rush. I swear the imagination on these kids is amazing.

When we get home, I get both kids out of the car and tell them they can have a snack and then start their homework before Y/N gets homes. While the kids are unpacking for the day, I get a phone call and hope to see Y/N's face pop up on my screen. Unfortunately, it isn't, but it is the next best thing. After Cait told me the ring was perfect, I placed a call with the jewelers to see if they can have it ready and put in Y/N's size. They called me back only 4 hours later and let me know her ring is ready for pick-up. Since I'm alone with the kids, and Y/N will be home soon, I texted Cait to see if she would pick it up and come over for a movie night (as an excuse to deliver me the ring!).

Cait: OMG yes, I will go now. Do I need to pick anything else up for the movie night?

Scar: Nah, we have everything here.

Cait: Perfect, I'll be there in an hour.

Scar: Thank you so much. I can't wait for this to happen. 2 more days!!!

Cait: 2 MORE DAYS!!!!!

A little after I texted Cait, I heard the front door open and an exhausted but happy sign from Y/N.

"Hey babe, how was your day?" I ask, giving her a quick kiss before she can answer.

"It was fine. I was hoping to be off most of the day, but once I got there, it was utter chaos. I couldn't go home until it was fixed." She lets out as she finally relaxes after a long day.

"Well the kiddos are done with their homework and ready for a surprise tonight." I let on.

"Oh really, and what might that surprise be?" Y/N asks with a small grin on her face.

"Since it's Friday night, I asked Cait to come over and have a movie night with us! I figured it might be fun, plus she can sleepover and hangout tomorrow while I get everything ready for my parents to come over tomorrow for dinner."

"That's tomorrow? Scarlett I totally forgot. I don't know if I'm ready for your parents. Parents don't usually like me, what if they don't like me, what happens if they say I'm not good enough for you, or they are mad that I'm not a man........." Y/N rambles off all her insecurities and fears.

I lean in close and capture her lips to keep her from rambling on. I could tell she was getting anxious. When I feel her finally relax into the kiss, I pull away.

"My love, they will love you. You are perfect for me and I can't wait for them to see how happy I finally am. It will all be okay, I promise." I reassure her.

"Thank you, that helped." Y/N returns finally relaxed.

When I hear the doorbell rings, I know Cait it here. So I send Y/N up to our room so she can change into something comfortable. 

"Thank you so much for picking up the ring, I cannot thank you enough."

"It was no problem, I am glad to help out. Now here it is, put it somewhere safe and someplace she won't find it." Cait makes sure to drill the words into me. 

"The kids are excited to be part of the plan and I hope I can count on you to get all the good photos and video!"

"Oh please, I will be hiding and getting all the best shots, she will never know. How nervous is she for tomorrow?" Cait asks, knowing her best friend well.

"She already forgot and panicked when I reminded her like twenty minutes ago. Hopefully you being here tonight and helping her get ready tomorrow will relax her. After that, it's time for the big question. I don't think I've ever been this excited and nervous at the same time. " I respond honestly to Cait.

"Don't worry, she loves you more than you know. You mean everything to that girl. Even before you guys met, she was in love. Don't tell her I said this, but you are her celebrity crush. She has been obsessed with Marvel and you for as long as I can remember. You were her wallpaper loooonnnnng before you guys met." Cait shares this secret with me and I can't help but laugh a little bit at my admirer.

Before long, Y/N is coming down the stair in..wait.. MY sweatpants. That little thief. But how can I be mad when she looks damn good in them?

Y/N places and order for pizza to be delivered and we all decide on a movie that is kid friendly as the kiddos just didn't want to leave us. Eventually settling on Lilo and Stitch, which was shockingly not the kids decision, but Y/N and Cait's as that is their favorite movie. Although, I did not hear any complaints from Jay or Rose.

It was so nice to have everyone here. We all just snuggled in together, Y/N laying in between my legs while I play with her hair and she runs her hands lovingly up and down my legs. Rose is sitting in between Y/N's legs and I love seeing how close they have become. Jay is laying with his Aunt Cait and they look adorable as well. I know he misses seeing her a lot and I love that Cait and Y/N are so close, given their history with their families.

As we all lay there, bellies full, I look around and can't help but smile at what my life has become. I have fallen for someone so hard and I can't imagine my life without her and Jay. I thought I knew what love was like before now and I was very wrong. Y/N has shown me what I was missing all along. I cannot wait for my parents to meet her. I know she is nervous, given what happened with her parents. However, I know they will love her. I talk to my mom about her all the time and she is so excited to meet the love of my life. In my past relationships, she hasn't been this excited.

Once I am taken out of my day dream, I notice that everyone is passed out in the positions we have refused to move from all night. Before I get up, I snap a picture, to remember such a special night.

I move Y/N to the side and grab rose and then Jay and bring them up to their rooms. Neither of the waking up along the way. They both sink into their beds easily and all I am left to do is get Y/N and Cait to bed.

I shake my love gently as she stirs awake. I mention the time and that we need to get to bed. As I grab the blankets off the floor, I see Y/N wait Cait up and show her to the guest room.

Y/N is already in bed and asleep when I get up the stairs. He perfect face all relaxed and beautiful. I could stare at her all day.

As soon as I crawl into bed, Y/N must have sensed me as she moved over and pulls me into her, nuzzling her head into my chest.

"I love you." Y/N says in a cute sleepy tone.

"I love you too Y/N. Goodnight my love." I reply back.

When I don't hear anything, I know she is out cold. I take a moment to realize that she probably fought some sleep to tell me she loves me and that makes my heart soar even more than I though possible.

Tomorrow I will introduce the love of my life to my parents and the day after that, I will ask Y/N to marry me. I have never been more sure of a decision in my life. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her and know that I finally know what love it.
