"Boo!"
"Jesus Sky." Scott placed a hand on his chest as I scared the living shit out of him.
"Boy, that sure is a great way to greet your friend." I smiled at Scott who stared at me in shock.
Scott was also in his bathroom about to start cleaning his wound.
I stood there with a bright smile on my face and in a second I was caught off guard and pulled into a swift hug.
He quickly laughed squeezing me tightly. I really didn't mean to scare him the other night. I just also didn't mean to make it about me.
"Your okay?" He asked and I smiled wider with a nod.
"A little sore. But other than that I'm great," I said and he stared at me. As if I wasn't real. "Scott?"
He cleared his throat looking away. "Yeah, sorry," he apologised for staring too long.
"Everything okay?" I asked.
"Sorry, it's just the last time I saw you, you looked..." he paused slowly shaking his head stopping himself.
So I finished off that morbid sentence. "Dead?"
He hesitantly nodded. "You scared us all Sky. Especially Argent."
I know. I didn't know...I thought I could fix it on my own. Because I'm so used to doing everything concerning myself on my own recently.
Argent knows I'm alive. Because he was there when I woke up. With the same routine. And then he hugged me tightly.
"I'm sorry Scotty. I really am. But you can't blame a girl for getting shot," I sighed pulling him into a side hug to try to comfort him. "But I'm here now. That's gotta count right?"
He stared at the ground with guilt. "I should have known. I should have...I should have realised."
"Scott, bud," I grabbed his face so he was looking at me. "This was on me. Not you. I should have asked for help instead of being a stubborn asshole. You have enough on your plate. This is on me."
"It shouldn't have to be. If I didn't keep dragging you all into these situations, these fights–"
"Ask me why I moved back here even though it caused me so much pain."
"Why?"
"To fight for my best friend. To fight with him. To fight for what he believes in. To fight by his side." I said still smiling. "Scott you will always have me at your side. Even when we're not speaking. Even when you don't want me. I will be there."
He just looked at me with so much gratitude. I look at him with so much admiration because of the person he's become.
"So I'm basically stuck with you forever?" He pretends to sound annoyed at that.
"Until you manage to find a dumb way to get yourself killed then yes," I replied with my hands on my hips. "What are best friends for?"
"You're more like family."
"Damn straight I am," I said proudly. Only because I just raided their fridge. He said I'm family. "Now let's help you clean this hideous wound."

"Will you stop wincing you big baby!"
I slapped Scott's arm while dabbing the cotton ball against his still very fresh wound.
"Stop being so harsh Sky! It hurts!"
"You're an alpha!" I yelled in disbelief. My god, I've never met such a whiny alpha. "You've endured worse. Now shut up."
