I tapped my fist light on the door and when it creaked open I spotted Kira sitting on Scott's bed. He weakly sat up restless and in pain.
"Hey Scotty," I spoke in a whisper as if his whole body would shatter if I spoke any louder.
"Sky?" He looked shocked to see me. And then his eyes drifted to the claw marks still present on my neck. "Holy shit. Are you okay?"
"I'm still better looking than you." I went to sit on the edge of the bed smoothing my hand over his shoulder. "Hey, Kira." I nodded at her and she smiled at me. "How are you holding up?"
She looked shocked at my question and it made me laugh. I'd always want to check up on her. She's the ray of sunshine Scott needs and she keeps him happy.
"Me? I'm fine. I'm good. I didn't get hurt by the beast if that's what you're saying but I've been better. I'm talking too much aren't I?"
"You're not talking enough," I responded which made her smile harder. I then looked at Scott and cringed at the dried blood on the side of his head.
I feel his pain. Actually, I felt it less than 24 hours ago.
"If you weren't in so much pain," I spoke calmly. "I'd smack some sense into you for thinking you could go up against that thing."
He laughed and it turned into a groan as he held his rib in pain. I quickly grabbed his hand allowing myself to take as much pain as possible.
The gold traces of my veins appeared instantly. I wasn't planning on holding back.
"Skyler wait–" Before he could stop me there was a short exhale of relief. I whimpered slightly feeling it. "Stop."
"Just a little more," I stated. It was more than just painful. It was torture. All over again.
"Sky." Scott did his best to push me away and I didn't have the energy to stop him.
I was breathing hard watching his scars already healing. When they did heal I shoved him gently.
"Don't you dare take more than you can bear Scotty? I can't lose you."
The idea of Scott McCall dying put a slight crack in my heart that I couldn't take. So yes I was mad but I was also terrified out of my damn mind.
"I thought you were gone. I thought you were going to leave," he mumbled already beginning to drift off in Kira's arms.
"I was," I admitted. I placed a soft kiss on the top of his head feeling a tear slip. "And then I remember a life without Scott McCall's bullshit infiltrating it, is not a life worth living."
He clutched onto my hand squeezing it. "Thank you."
"You take good care of my brother Kira," I told her and she nodded sheepishly smiling as she stared down at Scott. "I can't leave when I've got so much to lose."
"You mean Stiles?"
Scott's smiling now and that means his best friend has been running his mouth. It's not even been an hour!
You kiss one boy and his best friend hears about it in the next twenty seconds.
I swear I even saw Stiles texting Scott in the jeep.
The same Scott who claimed to be in so much pain has the energy to grin from ear to ear cheerfully.
I press my lips together hiding my smile but he doesn't miss the way my heart beats faster and my face goes red.
"You're blushing." He teased and I got off the bed.
"You've lost too much blood, you must be seeing things. And I obviously meant Liam." I scoffed walking towards the door.
