Oddly Unsettling

Not proofread. SORRY!!

I keep the lights closed as I enter the apartment keeping a firm grip on the gun resting in its holster on my hip.

Somethings off. And it shouldn't be. Everything should be placed back together now.

But something still feels oddly unsettling.

I carry on through the apartment memorising exactly where everything is placed.

Okay, somebody is definitely in here and it's not going to be a pleasant surprise for them.

And then I take a deep breath in before shifting into the other part of me. And I feel the presence of an individual's body temperature behind the couch.

I moved over silently making sure I don't make my footsteps light enough to trace.

And then I point my gun at the back of a hooded figure. I switch off the safety which makes a distinct sound and then it freezes.

"Do not piss me off. Get up, take down your hood and show me who the hell was dumb enough to break into an apartment, owned by a family who does a lot more than sell guns for a living."

Whoever is in front of me is definitely a man. Broad shoulders, tall stance, a glare that will make you want to be six feet deep.

"Being an Argent looks good on you Skyler."

Holy mother of god. There is no way–

"Derek."

I stood against the kitchen island opposite the man who has scared me more times than I can count.

"So how would the CIA's sixth most wanted, like his coffee?"

"Black."

Of course. Because Derek Hale never changes. Thank god.

"How've you been?"

"I'd be a whole lot better if your sister answered my questions about your lawbreaking ass," I grumbled.

"So you've heard about it?" He asked and I raised my brows pouring the coffee into a mug.

"Heard? I've been yelled at Hale. Screamed at. Told if I ever see that dangerous man I should be shaking." And if I were still in sophomore year, I'd truly be shaking in fear. "Perks of handling the big gun deals while Argent was away."

Derek laughed once I poured out his coffee into a mug and slid it over to him.

"Don't worry, no one knows. We're all a bit occupied with our own lawbreaking issues." I told him and he became slightly less tense.

Which I didn't know was possible. Because Derek Hale is the definition of tense.

The man's been getting into a lot of trouble since he left Beacon Hills. I didn't keep in touch with him. Sadly.

I honestly wish I did do something other than ask Cora but if I did it would make situations like this not so entertaining.

But Dereks been a big menace in a lot of cases with the CIA. It's hilarious watching him run from the law. Because he's been doing it all his life.

"How did you find out about this place?" I waved at the apartment. One of the many owned by Argent.

"Isaac."

Well, at least Isaacs never changing either.

"I also contacted Argent a week after I left. Told him I would be needing temporary accommodations and he left me a list. But mostly Isaac."
