there was a point of no return
and i never looked back 'til i was holding your hand
i'm a fool with a curse and a crush
i never wanted to be a teenager in love

"Mina's stealing me for lunch today," you say, packing your things away haphazardly at your desk. Shouto stands dutifully beside it, waiting for you with his own packed lunch and a confused look on his face as you tell him not to wait for you.

"Do you want me to sit with you, too?" He asks rather simply.

You stare back at him with slightly parted lips. He's come a hell of a long way since those first few weeks of school, but still—in the brief period between the sports festival and internships, he'd continued sitting alone despite his budding friendship with Midoriya. If you hadn't spent so much time with him, you might have thought some alien took his place in your life.

"Yeah," you say finally, quickly adding on, "but you don't have to. I don't think anyone would think too hard about you sitting alone."

"I don't mind."

You swallow thickly, watching him gently pick your lunch off your desk. He stacks it atop his own in the crook of his elbow before reaching out to take your hand in his spare one. You feel the familiar warmth spread to your ears, huffing quietly as he leads you out of the classroom. You remind yourself to ignore the prying eyes. Does he know how embarrassing he is...?

"We still training after school?" You manage to ask, finally relaxing as you take a seat next to Mina—your seat. Or, well, it was yours before you started sitting with Shouto. Mina's been complaining about its emptiness every day since. Speaking of which, you pointedly ignore the way your pink friend squeals and smacks at Toru's invisible arm.

"Yes, he won't be home for a few days," Shouto replies, "he" being Endeavor's crusty ass, whom neither of you have the patience to deal with at the end of a long day of school and training—or any day, really. "I'll be back."

You watch him walk away until you physically can't ignore Mina anymore. "Shut up," you whisper harshly, whipping around to smack her in retaliation. "Are you five?" You ignore the burning of your cheeks as if to save your pride. What's left of it....

"We can't help it," whines Toru. "You guys are just so cute! He's always holding your hand—!"

You glare at where her eyes might be with a pout on your lips. You wish you could pretend to be unbothered by this—the attention, the being perceived, all of it. Alas, you are not as cool as you wish.

Mina's next question makes you want to die: "So, has he kissed you yet?"

You sputter in disbelief for a moment before smacking her again. "Mina—!"

She cackles. "You're too easy, (Y/N)!"

"I hate you."

"You love me." There's a pause, letting your cheeks cool off only briefly until she gets right back to it. "You guys never talk about couple-y things, though."

You raise a brow. "What on Earth do you mean?"

"Every time you two talk, it's about school or training. It's super unromantic—Where's the PDA? I'm trying to live vicariously through you, I'm gonna need you to get some—"

"Okay!" You say quickly, waving your arms wildly in an attempt to make her shut up. "Didn't realize you had a voyeur thing going on, Min." Toru laughs. "What about Shouto made you think he'd be into PDA, anyways...?"
