After spending some time together, Wahid left for work, leaving Imaan alone in her thoughts,
She thought over the things that happened and couldn't help but feel helpless, She was so excited to skip the party and spend the day shopping, instead she spent the day crying ,
Imaan's eyes were red and she can barely recognise own her face in the mirror, she went into kitchen and started to make some rice to comfort herself, since a very young age, some rice and chicken always made her feel better,
Lost in her thoughts Imaan played with her food, her spirits were in all time low, and she feels depressed, all she ever wanted was to be loved by her husband, despite their messy past of him being a bully to her, She accepted him as he was and all she got in return is a love-less marriage,
She doesn't remember what she did to him, for him to treat her like this, is totally uncalled for,
Later that night, Wahid returned, his face looked unusually happy as he was going to have a much needed break. Although he has to share the time with her. He thinks it's worth it,
He walks into the house, but he didn't see Imaan waiting for him sitting on the sofa as usual, it was rather strange as he was used to her waiting for him,
Wahid walked inside with a frown on his and saw half-eaten rice on the table,
'It seems like she's really upset'
He sighed and went up stairs,
There inside the room, he saw Imaan praying silently, after finishing her prayer, she looked up to him and gave him a sweet smile that hid her pain,
"Assalamualaikum, when did you come?" She asked trying to hold the smile on her face,
"Just now... and um you...why" He wanted to ask why she wasn't waiting for him downstairs as usual but he didn't want to seem like he was bothered by it or something,
"Huh? What?" Imaan asked confused, she was ignorant of the impact she had on him based on the small action of her waiting for him everyday,
"Nothing, I have a surprise for you" Wahid said happily after brushing off his rather gloomy feelings and changed the subject,
"What is it?" Imaan tried to be excited but she couldn't keep the fake smile on her face any longer and waited for him to answer,
"Do you remember the business trip I was talking about?" He bagan slowly,
"Yeah, wasn't it supposed to be today?" Imaan asked curiously, she doubts that he cancelled the business trip just to visit her in the hospital,
"Well, actually, tomorrow we'll be going to Hawaii, I know I haven't been the best lately, so take it as an apology," Wahid said sheepishly while giving a big smile, he expected her to jump in joy but he was only met with silence,
'huh'
"Wahid," Imaan began hesitantly, "You don't have to take me with you, I'll not throw a tantrum, I'll not tell anyone, you don't have to this" Imaan said gloomily staring into his eyes, now that she knows he doesn't have any ounce of feelings for her, everything seemed so forced,
"NO, I mean, this trip was planned for you, I planned it, for you" Wahid said quickly, trying to convince her, he was shocked when Imaan talked in a gloomy manner, as he had never seen her so sad before, he thought after she relaxed for a bit, she'll be back to normal, but her present state was beyond his expectations,
Listening to him say that the trip was planned for her, Imaan became slightly happy,
Although she was still somewhat sad, Imaan started to pack for the trip with a small smile on her face,
Wahid observed her expression and felt pleased with himself, he knew that would work, she's so easy to console,
Just as he thought, all Women are the same, A little gift is enough to make them happy,
As the night darkened, Imaan slept beside Wahid, she was very tired as she spent the whole day crying and also packing at night,
Wahid was awakened in the middle of the night when he felt Imaan get up, he quickly grabbed her arm and groggily asked, "Where are you going?"
Imaan tried to remove his hand and replied, "My leg hurts, I need to apply the ointment,"
Remembering her leg injury, Wahid also got up and began to search for it as Imaan watched,
"I think you should turn on the light" Imaan suggested quietly, Wahid stared angrily at her before turning on the light quickly,
Finally finding the ointment inside one of the drawers, Wahid went towards Imaan while unscrewing the cap,
Imaan reached out her hand, trying to take the ointment when Wahid, dodged her hand dumped a little amount of the ointment in his hand, ready to apply on her leg,
Imaan quickly shyed away and tried to refuse, "I can do that myself," she said with a light blush on her face,
"No, you don't know how to, I'll do it," Wahid said as he grabbed her leg with a little force,
He felt bothered when he saw her slightly swollen left leg and frowned,
Although she was a little flustered, Imaan didn't take back her leg, and allowed him to apply,
When he saw her leg, Wahid felt irritated as he was reminded of the hospital situation and couldn't help but scold her,
"You should be more careful, or else you'll get disabled at an early age"
He said brutally, while applying the ointment,
"I know, I'm sorry" Imaan mumbled quietly as she was also reminded of how she fell and what happened after,
Next time she will remind herself to listen to her gut feeling and not plan on doing stuff like lying to him, she was scared that he would know about her skipping the engagement party and went shopping with Dawood, but much to her delight, Wahid didn't question her on that.
After applying the ointment, the pair of husband and wife went back to sleep, both having different feelings in their heart,
One filled with unrequited love,
Other with satisfaction and an indescribable feeling.
