"If she doesn't get here soon she's getting an ice bucket over her this time" Lydia thought. Thirty minutes had gone by and Jenna still hadn't come downstairs. Lydia was sitting on one of the couches in the lobby looking through various contracts and schedules. She made sure she was in view of the elevator, so Jenna couldn't sneak past her.
Eventually the doors opened and Jenna stepped out in jeans, a hoodie, sunglasses with headphones around her neck. She walked over to Lydia and sat down on the opposite couch, not saying a word.
"Hey you made it! Oh am I getting the silent treatment now?" Lydia asked, spotting Jenna's stoney expression. Jenna didn't answer, she just looked at her over her shades. Lydia chuckled.
"Look I'm sorry I had to throw water over you, but it was the only way I could get your ass out of bed" she explained.
"Order me a coffee and a croissant and I might forgive you" Jenna said, finally taking off her sunglasses. Lydia raised an eyebrow and sighed then called a waiter over to place Jenna's order.
"Well? Am I forgiven?"
Jenna rolled her eyes, "I guess".
Lydia took a deep breath to calm herself.
"Now here's what's left of your schedule for today..."
She handed her an itinerary with the first four appointments crossed out.
"Tomorrow is a busy one though, you have two auditions, three interviews and a photoshoot. Please rehearse your lines and show up this time!" Lydia begged giving her the following day's itinerary.
"OK I will" Jenna said timidly, staring at the paper.
Lydia sighed, she couldn't help but feel sorry for this young girl who'd been thrust into the spotlight practically overnight. Jenna chewed her thumbnail anxiously as she read the document in her hand.
"Jenna if you're struggling I can move some of this around-" Lydia offered.
"No. It's fine. I can do this" she sounded determined but Lydia wasn't convinced so she sat next to her on the couch.
"Look I'm still your friend and I'm here for you if you need to talk" Lydia said sympathetically and put her hand on Jenna's knee, "I've gotta go now but your P.A. will be along soon and a car should be here in the next half hour".
"OK, I do appreciate everything you do for me Lydia" Jenna said as Lydia gathered her things. They smiled at each other for a few moments.
"Just behave yourself. I don't want to see you on social media falling out of a night club again" she joked and Jenna blushed. They said their goodbyes and as Lydia headed to the door she turned back to see Jenna nibbling on her croissant.
"Cute" she thought.
