For the next few days Lydia threw herself into her work, trying to distract herself from thinking about Jenna. She hated how they had left things, their relationship had started with angry sex and now it had ended with it. She tried to convince herself that a relationship like that would be toxic and neither of them deserved that. But it didn't stop her from missing Jenna terribly.
She caught herself daydreaming about her, like the time she counted all of the cute freckles across Jenna's face as she lay sleeping in the early morning sun.
"56 in total" she remembered fondly.

One night after several glasses of wine at home Lydia called Gwendoline in tears.
"I'll be over in twenty minutes!" Gwen promised but arrived in fifteen.
Lydia explained what had happened and Gwen stayed for hours consoling her. Jenna had said that Gwendoline was a motherly figure to her and now Lydia could see why, it made her miss her own mother back in England.
"Let me speak to Jenna" Gwen said assuredly.
"There's no point, she's made her feelings crystal bloody clear" Lydia said bitterly.
As she went to pour another glass of wine for herself Gwen put her hand over the top of the glass, "darling you've had enough".
Lydia huffed and put the bottle down on the table then slumped back onto the couch.
"I'm such a fucking fool".
"No you're not, you just fell in love".
"That's the problem".
Gwendoline was completely unconvinced that Jenna didn't feel anything for Lydia. She knew Jenna very well and it wasn't like her to lash out like that. She remembered the way she gushed about Lydia during their lunch and the way they looked at one another when they were together.
"I need to do something about this" she thought and came up with a plan.

Jenna also focused on her work, she checked her phone constantly expecting to hear from Lydia but she didn't even receive a work email from her. She felt guilty for how she had spoken to her and for slapping her, but she still felt like she had been used. This was a common feeling for Jenna especially after the huge success of 'Wednesday', suddenly everyone wanted a piece of her but many were only interested in her looks or the novelty of who she was. It was overwhelming and hard to escape from. But Lydia never saw her that way. She was a comfort to Jenna, like a security blanket, she always felt safe and protected by her. Now she felt lost and vulnerable.

One night Jenna lay sleeping in her bed when a dream came to her. She saw Lydia kneeling down beside the bed and felt her fingers running through her hair. Jenna saw she was in Lydia's bedroom and wearing her outfit from when she went to The Blue Moon club.
"You're right, I love you" Lydia whispered in a gentle voice.
It felt so real, like Lydia was actually there. Her hazel eyes filled with such deep affection.
Jenna awoke suddenly with the realisation that it wasn't a dream...it was a memory.
"Oh my god, she loves me!" she thought.
Her heart was racing and fireworks exploded in her stomach. She thought about Lydia's laugh, her hair blowing in the wind, holding her hand, watching her nervously eat the popcorn during the horror film...
Then she thought about their first kiss and she touched her own lips with her fingertips. She could still feel Lydia's mouth on hers and imagined kissing her right now, her fingertips sliding down her chin then her neck then her chest. She allowed herself to fantasise and whispered Lydia's name as she did, calling to her like a Siren.

Jenna gasped as a sudden realisation hit her like a truck and her eyes flew open, "I love her too" she said aloud. She laughed to herself, "I love her!", she felt so giddy as the excitement bubbled up inside, "I LOVE HER!".

She looked around the room frantically searching for her phone.
"I have to tell her! NOW! I don't care what time it is!"
She spotted it on the floor when it suddenly beeped and the screen lit up. She reached down to pick it up and was thrilled to see she had a text from none other than Lydia.

L: Hey. Meet me at Sidney's tomorrow at 2pm. We need to talk x
J: Hey! Sure I'll see you then. I've missed you so much xxx

Jenna lay back in bed holding the phone to her chest with the biggest smile on her face and the warmest feeling in her heart.
