Chapter 8 - The Gate

"Eleven." Mike says, walking up to her.

"Mike." El says, meeting him halfway and pulling him into a hug.

"Is that...?" Max trails off, looking at Lucas, Dustin and Rudy.

"Yeah." Rudy says and Lucas and Dustin nod.

"That's exactly what I thought she'd look like." Gemma says.

Mike and El pull apart and tears stream down their faces.

"I never gave up on you. I called you every night. Every night for..." Mike starts to say.

"...353 days. I heard." El says.

"Why didn't you tell me you were there? That you were ok?" Mike asks.

"Because I wouldn't let her. The hell is this? Where've you been?" Hopper asks, directly to El and walking over her.

"Where have you been?" El asks and Hopper pulls her into a hug.

"You've been hiding her. You've been hiding her this whole time!" Mike yells, punching the back of Hopper's shoulder.

"Hey! Let's talk...alone." Hopper says, grabbing him by the collar and dragging him away.

"Goddamn, Mike. You got balls punching a cop." Rudy calls after him.

He then goes over to El with Lucas and Dustin, and the three of them pull her into a hug.

"We missed you." Lucas says.

"A lot." Rudy says.

"I missed you too." El says.

"We talked about you pretty much every day." Dustin says as he, Lucas, and Rudy pull away from her.

El looks at him closely before sticking her thumb into his mouth.

"Teeth." El says.

"What?" Dustin asks, confused.

"You have teeth." El says and Lucas and Rudy chuckle.

"Oh, you like these pearls?" Dustin asks before purring and El jumps back slightly.

Rudy shakes his head at him before turning back to El.

"El, there's someone you have to meet." Rudy says, excitedly.

He looks over at Gemma and gestures for her to come over.

"This is Gemma." Rudy says when Gemma approaches them.
