Chapter 2 - Trick or Treat, Freak
The next morning, Rudy exits Steve's car and heads to Hawkins Middle School.
"Hey guys." Rudy says, approaching Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will at the bike racks.
"Hey Rudy!" They all say, taking turns hugging him.
"Whoa! Whoa!" Mike says after Lucas and Rudy pull apart.
"What?" Lucas asks.
"Why are you Venkman?" Mike asks.
"Because I'm Venkman." Lucas says.
"No, I'm Venkman." Mike says.
"Why can't there just be two Venkmans?" Will asks.
"Because there's only one Venkman in real life!" Mike says.
"'In real life'?" Rudy asks.
"You know what I mean." Mike says.
"Pretty sure I don't. It's just a movie." Rudy says and Mike rolls his eyes.
"Anyway, we planned this months ago. Since Rudy's too cool to wear his Danny Zuko costume to school, he's himself, I'm Venkman, Dustin's Stantz, you're Egon, and you're Winston." Mike says, pointing at Will then Lucas.
"I specifically didn't agree to Winston." Lucas says.
"Yes, you did!" Mike says.
"I don't think he did." Will says.
"No one wants to be Winston, man." Lucas says and Dustin shakes his head.
"What's wrong with Winston?" Mike asks.
"What's wrong with Winston'? He joined the team super late, he's not funny, and he's not even a scientist!" Lucas says.
"Yeah, but he's still cool." Mike says.
"If he's cool, then you be Winston." Lucas says.
"I can't!" Mike says.
"Why not?" Lucas asks.
"B...because..." Mike stutters.
"B...b...because you're not black?" Lucas asks.
"I didn't say that!" Mike says.
"You thought it." Lucas says.
"Guys!" Dustin says, pulling them from their argument.
Mike, Lucas, Will, and Rudy walk up him and they all see that the kids that are exiting the bus, are wearing regular clothes.
