From a very young age Charles knew what he wanted to be when he grew up, unlike many other children of his age. He wanted to be a baker; this has come as a surprise to many people who knew the Monegasque. People around him always thought he would be into sports or perhaps modeling as he had a unique beauty. However, Charles had developed his sweet taste in the kitchen with his mother alongside him. Every Sunday they used to bake together and make the most delicious blueberry pie for the whole family.
Everyone loved Charles' desserts, they were made with love and passion and anyone eating them could taste it. His family was very supportive of his choice and was always there for his baking competitions when he was growing up. His parents were also there when he graduated university with a Baker degree and when he first started to work in a bakery and earned his hard-working money which he would save every penny every month to conquer his dream.
Despite his family support there were many people that he also considered as friends who criticized him as he grew older telling him he should 'grow' out of this silliness and start looking for a real passion/job.
However, Charles would not give up so easily, as a matter-of-fact Charles would not give up at all; he took their words and turned them into strength and dedication and just after two years and a half of working extra hours, picking up extra shifts, working harder than many people believed he would he managed to save enough to buy the perfect place for his bakery.
It was a quaint little place in the city center of Monaco, beautifully painted in a pastel yellow shade that brought warmth to the place. It had a few booths at the end where couples or friends could gather more privately and enjoy their quality time. There were a few wooden tables and chairs with flower arrangements. Charles also ensured that there would be a high table near the window where people could enjoy the view and perhaps do some work if they felt like it.
The exterior of the bakery had an arch which was also wrapped in flowers, you could say that the Monegasque ensured that his bakery reflected how he was. Even though he was a bubbly guy he also was very much in touch with his feminine side.
Today was the big day, the moment that Charles longed for, today was the grand opening. Everyone could tell how Charles was feeling. His face showed pride and excitement, but his body language showed nervousness and angst. For a fraction of a second he thought this would be the biggest mistake of his life, but his best friend assured him that everything would be just fine. Charles was grateful that Pierre insisted on working with him, he knew his best friend would never let him down and would be there with him along the way.
Charles entered his bakery with pride overwhelming him and started to do what he knew to do best; baking. He still had a couple of hours until they would officially open to the public and even though he had been working the previous night he insisted on going in early to ensure everything was ready.
The boys, being in their own world, did not even realise that time had flown in the blink of an eye, and it was time for the opening. Whilst Charles was placing the goodies on the display shelves, Pierre was finishing the last touches on the place. It was now 9 in the morning sharp, and Charles unlocked the door and patiently waited for people to come over.
