Em's POV

We sat in silence, driving up the windy road. Twists and turns swirled us around the cliff. I looked out my bug-gut covered window, staring at the glistening water at least 200 yards below. I felt the freezing water slap my skin as I plummeted down the cliff... hoping it was th-

"'Em!" My mom said, snapping me out of my head. "We're 5 minutes away. How are you feeling?"

"Shitty" I mumbled as a hot tear grazed my cheek, falling onto my dark blue sweater.

"Look, I know this is scary bu-"

"Turn left in a quarter of a mile" the British robot said, cutting my mom off. My mom reached for my hand; squeezing it three times.

"I am always here for you, through thick and thin"

"Mom!" I cried.

"What?! Oh shit honey, I'm sorry." She said; her face looked like she had just seen a ghost. "Look I-"

"It's ok, mom. Don't worry about it." For the next few moments it you could only hear the hum of the cracked road underneath us.

"Your destination is on the right!" The GPS yelled as if it were mad at me. Mad at me for needing to come here.

I grabbed my llama and my backpack, making sure I didn't leave anything in the car; it would be a long time till I see it again. Mom grabbed my hand, pulling me into the tightest hug ever.

"I love you."

"Love you too," I whispered. Rain drops started to fall. The sky was crying for me since I couldn't cry myself.

I walked up to the door and knocked. Knocked on the door to joy. Knocked on the door to freedom. Knocked on the door to the ladder, leading me out of this hell hole I dug for myself. And I walked in...
