Getting Settled

Em's Pov:

As the three of us walked a little further we reached a huge light up sign saying 'Playhouse Square!' I looked around in awe, it was wicked beautiful!

"Here we are!" Ben said stomping in front of a massive hotel called the Crowne Plaza in Cleveland. I anxiously pointed up at it like he was joking. Ben put his hand on my shoulder "nope, this is not a dream." How did he read my mind I thought.

I walked in a few steps after them, a bit scared. The lobby was gorgeous! Two extravagant fireplaces with tall purple chairs on either side. I recognized a man sitting in one of them on his laptop. Smiling, he waved to Josh and Ben. He soon made his way towards us.

"Hey Ben, Josh, I was wondering what was taking you so long!" He said in a playful yet concerned tone. "Ah, and you must be Emily! Great to meet you!"

"Oh you can call me Em and sorry about being late, I can see why you call these two idiots." I laughed.

"Well I'm never wrong," he smiled. "Oh and here's your room key, all the way on the top floor!"

"Oh great!" I tried to sound excited but right after he said that I started to feel sick. I have a major fear of heights so this should be interesting.

"And go to the roof at 6:30! We're gonna be doing a meet and greet for you!" Jeff said as he walked away staring down at his phone.

Wonderful, I thought sarcastically, absolutely wonderful!

Ben and Josh had finally left me alone as I got settled into my room. I saw another person's suitcase in the corner with everything folded nice and neat as if she hasn't touched it yet. I started putting my clothes in the drawers trying not to make a mess, I didn't want her thinking I was a slob!

As I was putting all my stuffed animals on the bed someone opened the door. I froze, this must be my roommate! A sweet blonde lady walked through the door with a bag from some brand I've never heard of and a Starbucks coffee in her hand.

"Oh my gosh!! You must be Emily!!! I'm Melissa, but you can call me Mel. I'm your roommate and designated tour guide!!!" She struck a dramatic pose. I chuckled a bit.

"Cool!! You can just call me Em though, Emily is kinda formal," I replied. "Oh what part do you play?"

"I'm a swing! It's so much fun!!" She said. "Always on standby!"

"That sounds so fun! I play Lyds."

"Awesome! Did you hear about the meet and greet on the roof?"

"Uhh yeah, Jeff told me about it. Sounds fun!"

"Yeah, well I'm gonna go get ready!" And she flew into the bathroom.

After that encounter I kept putting my stuffies on my bed. I took out my phone. 6:03. I've got some time, I thought. I put my hair in two French braids and put on my Jean jacket. 6:19. I dug through my backpack for my worry pet I was making. The soft lilac yarn felt like clouds and the lavender filling I put in help calm me down. 6:30. Time to go...
