On a Saturday in a hospital, something special happens. It doesn't just happen at that hospital, in that room, or at that time. It happens a lot: a baby is born. But this one is special, at least for me, because it is, me.
I, of course, do not remember anything from that moment, but I can imagine it was quite stressful but also interesting. A real sensory overload. My family probably also felt all the emotions.
The Planet I was born to is Earth, in a state of confusion and hope. Weird times have passed, a new millennium just began, and even tho years are a human construct, I think it was motivating to know, that a new time has begun, so let's make it a new time.
Even though it seems like the world was motivated to change, change doesn't happen overnight. Old views are still present in most minds, many things like neurodivergence are only starting to finally get the recognition they deserve.
Queerness on the other hand, while having been around for some time, still has a long way to go. And all the queer folk being born around this time would not have an easy journey. And little me would get to experience it firsthand.
Many people, including myself, believe that birth is not the start, and death is not the end. Reincarnation is a belief common in many religions and belief systems. And this life would be an interesting journey, but certainly, not an easy one.
Anyway, I was born to a loving mother with a boyfriend no one would enjoy having. I was named 'John Andreas' and assigned Male due to having the male sexual organ. While the latter half was just convention, Names obviously had meaning behind them. Much so mine. Andreas was a good friend of my mother and uncle who passed away in his young years due to cancer. Meanwhile 'John' was just a name my mom found pretty.
I would soon get to know my grandparents, uncle, and mom's several boyfriends she had before finding the one she was always looking for.
And thus my childhood begun.
