"Curiosity killed the cat" is a common phrase commonly used to discourage experimenting due to potential danger. However, as this chapter's title may suggest, I think a little Curiosity is what everyone needs.
Curiosity is what every child is born with, after all, it is what they're known for. Just landed in a new reality, and began a fresh life, you have to get to know the reality you're in now. How it works, what is in it, who is in it, how they are in it.
I was a very curious and creative child. I asked a lot of questions. While I don't remember how many were actually answered by my single mother, grandfather, grandmother, and uncle, my Number one and two rules have already been settled.
Rule Number One: Every Question has an Answer.
Rule Number Two: If a Question does not have an answer, I will find it.
These rules may sound very exhausting and like they could lead to quick frustration. Well, that's true, but it's what I still live by to this day, and at least in the present time it is more helpful and I don't experience overwhelmingly negative outcomes from it.
Anyway, the reality I was born into was a very weird one, with a lot of structure, and a lot of rules, but no guidebooks to explain those. This is what would be my number one problem within the following years.
Planet Earth is a beautiful, lush, versatile planet, that has been significantly modified with huge cities, machinery, and other gadgets. Some people play god, while others would just like to have enough money to pay rent.
It is a world filled with a lot of negativity, but also a spark of hope that never fades. And I want to ignite it even more.
Due to my creativity and curiosity, I could find interest in many things, and once I did there was no stopping me.
I would also find an interest in video games very early on. While my motoric skills were too undeveloped for Hello Kitty on the PlayStation 2, I was still full of motivation to try to move that blob of pixels to the exit door of the beginning house, just to be greeted with sensory overload due to a huge city of 4 houses and no idea of what to do.
