A/N: I am SO SORRY that this part took an incredibly long time to get published. My schedule has been insanely busy BUT my exams finally will be done after this week so hopefully I'll get much better at updating quicker. Thanks for sticking around and being patient with me<3

Crescent gripped Spider's arm as she helped him to his feet, her breath coming in short bursts as the anxiety and fear from moments before tried to leave her body. She was beyond grateful that Neytiri had spared his life, but the blood running down his chest still made her feel a deep sense of sorrow. The look in Neytiri's eyes had been so terrifying that Crescent was absolutely convinced that she would have killed him.

There was nothing in the entire universe that terrified her to her core like the thought of living without Spider. It made her legs go weak and her heart squeeze in her chest. Maybe she hadn't always known it, but he was just as crucial to her survival as the mask she was forced to wear. Crescent would rather go without oxygen than live without Spider, and that was a scary realization.

Spider slipped his hand into hers, trying to give her a reassuring look as Kiri scurried to stand near Tuk and Jake, but she could tell he was still trying to process everything that had happened. Now that Quaritch had no leverage against them, they all started backing away towards the water, ready to be done with all of the fighting.

"Spider get them out of here," Jake said to him, sending Kiri and Tuk towards them. Tuk held on tightly to her sister's hand as Neytiri began to join them. If they could get away, everything would be fine, she tried to convince herself. The fight was over, at least, she hoped it was.

Spider kept a tight hold on Crescent's hand, "Come on." he said to them, "guys, Tuk, let's go."

Quaritch was glaring at Neytiri as she followed them into the water, "I owe you a death." He snarled at her.

Neytiri growled at him, looking ready to attack, but Tuk ran back and grabbed her arm, pulling her further into the water. Crescent just wanted to get everyone away as fast as possible, so she was glad when Tuk's efforts seemed to pay off. Neytiri stepped back into the water, her eyes still trained on Quaritch.

Before Jake could move to follow them, Quaritch called out to him, "You're not leaving are you Jake?" Quaritch asked, his voice promising violence, "Knowing I'm out there? Knowing I'll never stop? I'm coming for you and when I do I'll kill your whole family."

Spider tensed up beside her when Quaritch said that, his conflicting morals clear on his face. Crescent couldn't even imagine the type of turmoil he must have been going through in that moment. He was loyal to the Sully's, Crescent knew that without a doubt, but Quaritch had clearly just shown he cared about him. Quaritch had chosen him over his revenge, even if it was for just a split second. That wasn't something you forget in an instant. Crescent just wanted everything to be over. She was so tired and she knew Spider was too.

The water was up to her shoulders now as they continued to back away slowly, watching as Jake and Quaritch stared each other down menacingly. Spider seemed uncomfortable when the salt water hit his cut, but he just kept pulling them all towards safety.

Jake glanced back at them for a second, seeing that they were doing as he said before he turned back towards Quaritch, "Then let's get it done." He said, and then he lunged at Quaritch with his knife raised above his head.

"Jake!" Neytiri yelled in worry, clearly scared for her husband.

The rest of the kids kept swimming away as fast as they could. Spider continued to hold onto her hand tightly while also keeping track of both Kiri and Tuk. They  had finally put some distance between them and the sinking ship when they could hear something exploding. Immediately, a ring of fire rose up around the ship, blocking their path any further. Crescent had the instinct to just swim underneath the fire, but because the oils from the ship had sunk deep into the water, even below the surface the water was boiling hot. It was impossible to go anywhere but back the way they came.
