Rocky's POV;

The rest of the drive to Jo's was quiet and relaxing. The sun was shining and Colt went to moms car this time to let me drive with grandpa for a while. I had taken out my gameboy and began playing Pokémon while he talked to me.

I always loved driving in grandpas convertible on a sunny afternoon.

"So why are you and Colt not getting along?"

Oh no...I really didn't want to get into this conversation. I pretended not to hear him and continue playing my game.

He gave me ten minutes before speaking again.

"Rocky." Whenever we used to drive alone,

Grandpa and I would always bond by talking about my problems or his. I have no idea if he did this with Colt or Tum Tum, but he sure did with me.

I sighed even louder to let him know I was annoyed with this question.

I then decided to give in, because he would always give pretty good advice.

"Does it have to do with Jo by any chance?" My eyes widen and I turned to face him, very confused.

"H-how did you know?" I was shocked at this.

I could see grandpas smirk and he laughed.

"I just figured. I've known for a while. We where going to live there for a few months for the summer and she invited us all. Plus you and Colt haven't been getting along since that conversation about a week ago on the phone." Grandpa explained his knowledge.

I hung my head low in shame and sighed.

"I guess I was obvious." I admitted. Grandpas face turned normal again.

"It's alright, Rocky. Your secret is safe with me, I won't say anything." Grandpa said.

"It is true, if you want to know. I do have a crush on Jo. I guess I always had, it just took me until

now to figure it out." I explained, giving in. I didn't mind telling grandpa or my mom my troubles because they are always there for me.

I would confide in my dad, too, if he where around more often. The rest of the ride was awkward silence for a while, and then grandpa began to talk out of no where.

We decided to stop at grandpas again real quick to make sure we had everything and then we got to Jo's a little bit later than the others so I didn't get a chance to say a proper goodbye to my mom.

So I made a note to myself to call her before I go to bed that night. We parked the car at Jo's house and instead of taking our stuff out we knocked on the door, hearing Colt and Tum Tum

chatting with everyone inside.

"Rocky, your finally here! Grandpa Tanaka! Welcome! Come on!" Jo greeted at the doorway, looking beautiful as ever.

Her dark skin glowed under the horizon light, and her dark eyes sparkled gorgeously in front of me. Her smile was killer and she had the perfect curvy body. She wore a pair of black pants and her top was probably something she made herself.

It was a black tank top but it had colourful striped beads and three lines of them along the stomach part of the shirt. It was quite interesting.

I found myself staring at her up and down.

"H-hey Jo!" I had no idea grandpa was shaking his head and giggling behind me at my behaviour.

Was I perhaps drooling?!

Joe gave me a warm and welcoming smile.

"Hey Rock! How has your summer been so far?"

I couldn't find the words at first, until grandpa nudged me.

"It's been ok. Thanks again for inviting us here for the summer." I said, putting down my luggage for a moment. It was getting heavy.

I looked over and saw Colt glaring at me from the living room and Tum Tum eating chips. He sure was making a mess.

"Your welcome! I'm glad you guys could come and we are grateful that grandpa will teach us ninja with you!!" I couldn't stop staring at her sparkling eyes. I could tell she was excited.

I just smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, you're going to learn a lot."

"So Colt told me you guys already ate lunch, so my mom and I can cook you all dinner tonight for your first night here. But if you want to relax the rest of the day I can take you to your house?" Jo explained.

Grandpa was off on his own, exploring the room because it had really amazing Indian artifacts and furniture.

I gave Jo all my attention.

"Uh, sure yah that's great. If your mom needs any help with dinner I been learning a lot of cooking recipes during the winter. I'm a great help in the kitchen!" I said. It was the truth. All winter I learned to cook a lot with my mother and we had a lot of good heart to heart talks.

"That's awesome, okay! My mom just went to the local grocery store. Follow me everyone to the empty house next door."
