Haeun sighed, closing the door to her dressing room behind her softly before slumping in the nearest chair. In all honesty, her heart was pumping out of her chest- she couldn't pin point an emotion she felt, it was all so overwhelming. Anger, sadness, frustration, confusion, longing... the list went on.
A soft sob escaped her lips as she pressed her hand up to her mouth to suppress the noise, after all these years and he had the audacity to just sit and stare at her? No apology or anything? Haeun lowered her head, nibbling on her lips as a single tear fell from her eye. Just when everything was going swimmingly- no troubles, a beautiful relationship, a successful career- and yet it was like her world had halted at the sight of one particular Australian man.
Too distracted by her thoughts, Haeun failed to hear someone walk into her dressing room quietly. The man closed the door behind him and stared at the sobbing girl on the floor, a flash of concern on his face.
"Hae-" The man whispered, rushing over to her side and immediately holding her hand in comfort. " What happened??"
"Felix." Haeun hiccupped, lifting her head to make eye contact with the freckled man, a few more tears slipping out of her eyes. " I can't-"
"I know." Felix hushed, pulling her into his embrace, drawing shapes on her back as the poor girl just sobbed harder into his shirt. From her reaction alone, Felix could tell who she had bumped into, having seen the entire performance himself. All he could feel was anger towards Chan. How dare he make his best friend- no scratch that- sister feel like this. After years, suddenly he appears??
Felix huffed in frustration before pulling Haeun back carefully, looking into her eyes in search for any emotion.
"At first, I was happy to see him, almost like a relief he was still breathing..." Haeun trailed, staring at the wall behind Felix in thought, "but now- see how he." She inhailed sharply, before continuing.
"How he just stared at me with this... look and didn't even bother to pull me aside and apologise just b-broke me."
Haeun removed her contact with the wall and stared at her hands now limp in her lap, shaking her head at her stupidity.
"I don't know why I expected him to say anything. I'm just confused, Lix- I am so fucking confused."
She lifted her head to meet her friend's concerned gaze and smiled sadly while patting the side of his face.
"Thank you for being here."
"Are you kidding me?" Felix blurted, shaking his head and standing up to his feet, pacing around the room looking like he was having an argument in his head, " You shouldn't be thanking me for being here! I should call Minho to talk some sense into that noodle haired dick!"
"Lix." Haeun called out to no avail, the short blonde just kept rambling with his eyebrows creased to such an extent Haeun believed he might get a wrinkle.
"Felix." Haeun said a little more stern which finally caused Felix to stop in his tracks and make his way back towards her. Sitting down, Felix sighed sadly.
"I just really want to help you, Hae. Is there anything I can do?" Felix looked to her, his glossy puppy eyes making Haeun's heart ache.
"Hmm..." Haeun pondered, she was going to go back to her boyfriend after the show but now she thought about it, it was best she didn't see him in this state.
"How about we go for a late night coffee?" Haeun smiled.
She saw the way his eyes lit up at the suggestion, a wide smile spreading across his face. Even after all theses years, his smile never changed.
"Let's go!" Felix exclaimed enthusiastically, grabbing Haeun's hand and pulling her to her feet before dragging her out the dressing room. As guards started to make their way to the pair, Haeun held up her hand and shook her head, smiling apologetically as they left the building.
