When Haeun finally started to get over her life in high school, of course, something had happen. It took her five years to get to the position she is now, sitting behind thousands of people who she can call her fans. But, even after years of doing what she loves, she never got over her life before it all.

The simpler times before JYP, before she argued with her Mom, before... Chan left.

Even though they were never labeled as anything, the time he started to ignore her calls and eventually block her number was one of the roughest times in Haeun's life.

It was dumb of her to have depended so much on Chan, but, could she truly blame herself? They had promised to stay in touch and she had so much faith in making things work between them, even when Haeun started to train under HYPE, another small company at the time.

Then again, it was just a stupid high school fling, right?

That's what Haeun had told herself over the last couple of years whenever the thought would randomly appear in her mind.

But now everything was different, this wasn't high school anymore, and now Chan stood before her, under the spotlight after singing with her brother's boyfriend and one of their high school best friends.

The cheering and claps started to die down after the announcers had called their names and the boys made their way off the stage in the direction of their seats. Haeun wanted to go over and congratulate them, not thinking of how she would interact with Chan at all, but knowing fans these days, if she even blinked in their direction, rumours would be flying about immediately.

Not that she wanted that anyways since she was already in a relationship with another soloist known to the media.

As if on cue, Haeun locked eyes with Chan, her heart almost stopping at the interaction. Despite him being quite far away and in the shadows of the light reflecting onto the stage, she could still see his face as clear as day.

She didn't want to admit it, but damn he looked amazing. He always used to. The last couple of years have aged Chan like fine wine. With sharp features that could cut paper, ehm the jawline, and a slimming complexion, he still somehow looked like he did six years ago but more... mature. Don't even get her started on his body.

Haeun broke the contact, moving her gaze to the floor, looking at her feet with some form of interest to distract her. Even if Chan had the biggest glow-up of the century and still made her heart skip a beat at something as simple as eye contact, his actions are unforgivable and plus, she can't go around dwelling on the past.

Just when everything seemed to be going right, why did something have to come and make things more complicated?
