Hesitantly, Jisung lowered his hand from Chan's shoulder and nodded slightly at him, secretly asking if he was ready. In response, Chan nodded back- his heart beat in his ears like when Haeun walked into the dressing room earlier that day.
Jisung smiled lightly and opened the door properly, Chan shyly following him into the cosy apartment, avoiding eye contact.
Everyone was already staring at them, as if they had never moved their eyes away since the doorbell rang. Chan's eyes darted across the room until it landed on her. And just like before his breath was taken.
There was a brief moment where the pair just stared at each other, not saying anything- just looking into each other's eyes.
Everyone in the room was looking between them, the tension becoming too much, even for the innocent.
"Uhm.. okay." Haeun cleared her throat, standing up from her sitting position on the couch. She took in a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for the worst and took a few confident strides towards Chan.
The movement was almost in slow motion for Chan, he was still as smitten as what he was all them years ago- even in a moment like this. Her hair swayed with each step she took, making her look euphoric in Chan's eyes. He was frozen in his place. Shit.
Haeun was now face to face with Chan, it was like the whole room held their breath, unsure of what she was going to do.
"Come on- Min, can we go on your balcony?" Haeun glanced to her brother who was leaning on the kitchen counter, his head resting on his hands.
At the call of his name, Minho quickly nodded and made quickly walked from the kitchen to the living room, where beside one of the two couches was a sliding door, covered by a translucent white curtain.
He pulled the curtain back a little and twisted the key in the door, sliding it open as the chilly breeze quickly entered the warm apartment.
Haeun turned her back to Chan and started walking soon after Minho, to which Chan built himself back up to follow her. He had no idea how this was going to go, and in all honesty, he was terrified.
Soon after Chan and Haeun stepped onto the balcony, showing them a beautiful view of the busy city below them, Minho shut the door and closed the curtain over for some privacy.
"You think she'll throw him off the-?" Before Hyunjin could finish his question, Felix slapped him on the forearm again, making the taller cower in "pain"
"Hyunjin! Shhh!!" Felix non the less rubbed Hyunjin's arm lovingly, much to the older's liking.
On the balcony, both Haeun and Chan sat on the small outside bench a tiny glass coffee table in front of them. They were a respectable distance apart, as Chan did not want to cross any boundaries.
He was waiting for Haeun to start, but after 2 minutes of no words from her, he decided to speak up.
"Look Haeun-"
"Chan, I think I have the right to speak first." Haeun snapped which caused Chan to immediately close his mouth, staring at his hands and messing with the few rings on his fingers.
After another moment of silence, Haeun ran her hand through her hair and stared blankly at the shining lights illuminated by various buildings below them.
"Why?" Haeun croaked, biting her lip to stop the lump in her throat from forming. "You left me when I was in such a vulnerable state and I was so convinced you would at least check in every once in a while."
Haeun glanced to Chan who was now staring back at her with an unreadable expression. If anything she was getting deja vu to when they were sat in his grandmothers cafe, except the roles are reversed now.
