I stumbled my way up the mountain, as the harsh winds of Dragonspine blew upon my face like a thousand prickling needles. This mission of mine was passed on to myself from no other than the ever gracious Captain Kaeya.

"Why didn't that damn Ice Princess do his own mission instead of sending me", I grumbled, my words carried with the still persistent wind.

But I knew why. The tavern had just got a shipment of Death After Noon, and Captain Kaeya, already half-drunk, didn't want to pass up on the opportunity. He promised me the weekend off and even Monday, if I completed this mission for him. The mission itself would've been quite simple if it wasn't for its location. It was just a simple delivery of supplies to the alchemist that lived on this treacherous mountain. A crudely drawn map, I suspect with crayon, would supposedly lead me to my destination. I had followed the crude handwriting which I suspected to be of Kaeya, but the words of the adventures and researchers of the base camp still echoed in my mind.

"We'd avoid any travel up Dragonspine truly, we believe a nasty storm is coming. There will be heavy snow and low visibility", Iris, I believe, warned me as she just stared up at the mountain.

"Isn't that how it always is, or are you trying to tell me that that hellish mountain could be worse"

But if I didn't complete my mission it meant no time off, so stupidly I trudged on. At some point I came across a cluster of frozen slimes, I prayed that the visibility didn't just affect my eyesight, but also their own.

Unfortunately, the archons seemed to not be in good favor this afternoon.

I reached back for the spear strapped to my back, the tip along with the rest of the pole was cold to the touch, I held the end of the shaft as the pole extended in front of me. The three slimes ahead seemed to have a large attitude in contrast to their small size. My hands appeared on opposite sides of the pole, and as my left hand pushed and my right pulled the pole swung, knocking the three slimes of the cliff to the rising snow piles several feet down.

Pushing slimes off a cliff was my usual go to, I found them too cute and difficult to sometimes kill. But it was when I was strapping the pole back on my back that I found I was in the presence of another. It was hard to see in the blizzard that seemed to get heavier as time went by, but the heavy falling snow could not stop me from seeing the cold blue eyes that stared at me from farther up the mountain. Though the wind blew and seemed to bury any noise made on this mountain, it seemed to carry his voice from where he was so that I could hear.

"You just pushed my subjects off the cliff"

I was confused. Subjects? But it seemed that my face voiced my confusion before I could, as he gave a small eyerole before giving me further explanation.

"Subjects for my painting"

Ah.

They did say people without human interaction for prolonged periods of time would start to go crazy. But that's not any of my business.

He continued to play this awkward staring game, until I forfeited to look at the instructions Kaeya had given me about my delivery.

Shortish...Blue eyes...Cold somewhat sarcastic tone...paints.

This may be the person I was looking for.

I looked up again to call out for the person, only to find he was no longer there, I desperately looked around to see where he may have gone, for if he was the one I was looking for I could leave this cold place much sooner.

"Hm you're much more visually appealing up close...you could do."

I whipped my head to the side to find him much closer than before, but that had little importance to me than the main goal of finishing this mission.

"Are you Albedo"

His face had no change of expression except for the corner of his mouth that slightly moved to form a smirk.

"Why are you a fan so desperate to meet me you traversed up this dangerous mountain?"

A slight laugh left my mouth as I pulled his package from my bag.

"I hate to disappoint but I am merely just a knight following my mission to deliver this package to you"

"Here I was thinking I had a courageous fan", he took the package from me, but the smirk still lingered on his face as his empty doll-like eyes scanned me.

"Only a person who wants a weekend off", I started turning away, longing to reach my warm bed that was still very far away.

"Hey, I think you owe me for chasing off my subjects"

Owe him? I had a sudden stop in my tracks, as the winds and snow of Dragonspine had seemed to pick up an even swiffer pace, for it became hard to see much more than a couple feet in front of me.

"My apologizes but I think my window of escaping this mountain and its storm is quickly closing"

"I'm afraid it's already closed"

His tone seems colder than before, colder than the wind that is currently prickling my face. I turned back to face him but the same smirk was still on his face. My face however must've given a hint at the fear I was starting to feel from his foreboding statement.

"The storm is well on its way, and I'm afraid even rushing off the mountain now would be too late and too dangerous"

Well that ruins many plans, he was right however, even at the pace the snow was falling now, I probably wouldn't make it back to the Base Camp.

"You're more than welcome to stay with me at my lab I have a little farther up, it's safe and you can wait out the storm"

I'm not sure if I can or should trust this man, but I'm low on options.

"Thank you, I believe I'll have to take you up on that offer"

He just gave a faint smile and started to lead the way.

"You'll be my new muse", but his words did not reach my ears for unlike before the wind carried them away and down this dangerous mountain.
