Eunwoo and Yeonjun stopped as they looked at Dongwook who was looking at the tall man.
"Your face. You look familiar."
Dongwook whispered as he placed his hand on Eunwoo's cheek.
"You two should leave tomorrow morning. It's dangerous to leave tonight."
Yeonjun nods as he follows Dongwook inside his house along with Eunwoo.
The two settled down on the two couches as Dongwook took the solo chair and sighed as he sipped his coffee.
"The moment Rin was born along with her twin brother... It was the happiest day that happened between us family..."
He whispered as he looks down at his mug.
Yeonjun grabs his s'mores and munches as Eunwoo grabs his mug with hot choco.
"When I carried Rin in my arms... She used her tiny hands and grabbed my pinky... She giggled and smiled at me... My heart was swelling with so much joy at the view of my beautiful daughter..."
Dongwook smiles as he looks at the pit fire.
"Sun-Mi had a twin sister too."
Eunwoo's eyes widened as Yeonjun gasped with s'mores in his mouth.
"But... Due to anger and jealousy, she turned her back on the Lees and went to marry off a Marine to become one too. She wanted to capture Sun-Mi and show their parents that their family is not full of failed dreamers. Mama... Or should I say Rin's grandma and Sun-Mi's mother... Demanded her to stop but hence she didn't listen..."
He looks down and sipped his coffee again.
"Ja-Yin didn't listen."
Dongwook leans back.
"Ja-Yin? That's my mother's name..."
Eunwoo thought.
"And when she heard that Sun-Mi was having twins from one of the knights, she had the nastiest plan... She sneaked into Moon Island where Sun-Mi was living and was waiting for me but she fell asleep. Ja-Yin cursed Sun-Mi... While pregnant with the twins."
Yeonjun grabs more s'mores.
"I Curse The Twins In My Sister, Give Them The Cruel Lies To Trick The Devil. Hatred Shall Overtake One Of The Twin, While The Other Is Full Of Bad Luck."
"And she left after that..."
"And then what happened?"
"When it was time for the twins to be born... Sun-Mi noticed the curse mark on the boy's shoulder. We didn't want to believe it... But it had to be done... We didn't want to separate the two but the curse was too powerful that even Sun-Mi couldn't get rid of it."
Dongwook began tearing up.
"So... I took the boy and ran away with him to take him to my hometown which is here... I know I sound like a jerk of a father for leaving Sun-Mi all of the times she needed help but she sent me letters to not worry about her... And she told me that she was dying of this illness because of the curse. But she didn't want to die because of that betrayal of her sister so... She gave herself in."
Tears fell on Dongwook's amber eyes as Eunwoo and Yeonjun fell in silence feeling bad.
"When her execution happened... Rin was just a baby. Chaerin had to take care of them... Sally guided them... Soo-Hyun helped too."
Dongwook looks down at his wife's tombstone.
"My wife... And My Life. I will see you soon, just wait for me in that purple dress with white daisy's that you love to wear, your long straight black hair with purple tips that smells like Hyacinth... And that smile I adore so much that every time I see it... It reminds me of how much I love you."
He placed the dahlias in her grave.
"I will love you always and forever, my life. And when we meet in heaven, I'll charm you again with my looks... I'll make sure that I'll find our son and tell him the truth... I Love You."
Yeonjun silently wipes his tears.
"While I was running away with the boy... Marines surrounded me... And there Ja-Yin was seen with lava all around her and this sick twisted smile on her face! She almost killed me..."
Dongwook sighed as he placed his empty mug down.
"She took my son... Our son..."
The man placed his hand on the ring Sun-Mi gave him and kissed it gently.
"But I will make sure that I'll find him again... It's My Promise To My Life." ________✳️________
