I woke up in a panic, sitting up quickly with my heart pounding dramatically in my chest.

I swallowed the scream that sat at the back of my throat, my breathing heavy as I ran my fingers through my hair before I reached for my phone to check the time.

3 AM.

Fuck. I had to be up in three hours.

I laid back down, closing my tired eyes as I tried to breathe through the fuckin anxiety sitting heavy on my chest. But my eyes replayed the nightmare like an old movie reel, flickering to life and making me nauseous.

Before I knew what I was doing, I was up, dressed, and basically jogging down the dark dirt road towards Bliss' camp.

"B," I whispered softly while unzipping her tent. It was pitch black inside and she hadn't stirred yet so I zipped the door up behind me and quickly stripped down to my boxers. Since the rain had stopped, she had both of the overhead mesh windows opened, letting in a little breeze that rustled through the trees.

By the time I turned around, my eyes had finally adjusted to the dark and I was welcomed by the sight of Bliss sleeping peacefully on her side in just a little baggy crop top and panties. Her leg was hitched up and tangled in the sheet she used as a cover in the summer heat and she was cradling the pillow she was also using for a head rest even though there were three next to her on the bed.

Even just seeing her made me feel a little at peace.

Crawling in, I moved the pillows out of my way before kneeling next to her on the bed. Gently, I began rubbing my hand up her outer thigh, trying to get her to wake up.

She finally stirred at that, her own hand coming out from under the pillow her arms were wrapped snugly around. She reached out and grabbed a hold of my wrist, not even opening her eyes as she pulled me down next to her.

"How'd you know I was dreaming about you?" she whispered, still half asleep. Her arms engulfed me as I buried my face into the nook of her neck, curling around her like I couldn't get close enough.

I couldn't get close enough.

I breathed her in, filling my lungs full of sunshine, honey, and the solace her presence provided. My hands roamed her warm skin, feeling every little inch available. I could feel my racing heart starting to slow as she tried to snuggle in further before she hiked her leg up over my waist.

"What were you dreaming about?" I whispered as I began placing soft kisses along her neck where my face was buried. Her hand came up to thread her fingers into my long hair, keeping a light hold on my head.

"Wouldn't you like to know," she said in a breathy little whisper that had me smiling against her skin.

"Yeah, that's why I'm askin," I replied with a bit of annoyance laced in my tone, which earned me the sweetest little sleepy giggle.
