The audience clapped and raised their seats as the performance ended. Everyone in the stadium of the Arts and Music College department cheered for the students on the stage, particularly the one in the centre, Jeff Satur.
The performers took their last bow for the week-long charity show held at their University, finally, they can have their most awaited rest and vacation.
"Congratulations! As expected, you did an amazing performance." Jeff was greeted by their College Dean and professors, as well as other students, as he made his way backstage.
"Thank you, Sir, Ma'am! I couldn't have done it without the help of my fellow students as well as our mentors." Jeff politely replied and looked for Perth.
"You need to get me out of here."
"What? Aren't you going to mingle with your co-actors and take pictures or whatnot?"
"Nooo. Let's go now," Jeff insisted.
"Wow, how many years in University and your social battery still hasn't improved." Perth teased and at the same time let Jeff drag him out of the stadium.
Once in the car on their way to a restaurant, "Haah! That was so tiring," Jeff muttered.
"Well, it was a week of a show, I'm sure it is." Perth agreed, "What do you want to eat?"
"Japanese, please"
So, they went to a Japanese restaurant to have dinner. While waiting for their orders, Perth showed Jeff a message.
"That P'Mile? Why is he bothering you about my moving out?" with a frown, Jeff read the messages.
"As you can see, your cousin wanted you out of that dorm before your dad finds out about the poor security that building has," said Perth.
"I wouldn't want dad to know too or they will insist I go to the UK to stay with them. I don't want to leave this place...yet." Jeff sighed, "I am trying to find a place soon before the last school year starts. It's just really hard to find one that matches my standard, you know?"
"I thought you already talked to one building admin? Though I know they cater mostly to the Engineering department because it is where their building is closest to."
"I don't care which college their building is closest to, they all are inside our University. Besides, I drive, so that is not going to be an issue. What important is, I get a unit soon." Jeff continued.
"What if it's just a room? Like you will be living with a roommate." Perth asked
Jeff was silent for a moment. He is used to living all by himself because he didn't want any distractions or someone complaining whenever he practices singing.
However, he is in a bind and if worst comes to worst...
"It's fine, so long as the roommate is not some kind of weirdo. I can just have the room soundproofed so I can still practice singing without disturbing."
They finished their dinner and went back to each of their places. It had been a long week for Jeff so he will take a 3-days off to rest before he starts working on his portfolio and song demos.
He checked his email hoping to see any updates on the inquiries he sent out for dorm hunting but luck was evading him.
It was already late in the afternoon when Jeff woke up, been like this for the last three days of this rest.
He spent most of his time catching up on series and books he missed, meeting up with Perth or his cousin, Mile, and shopping.
He also bought a new instrument, Phin, which he plans to use on a song that he is composing.
Perth dropped by around noon time but didn't bother to wake Jeff up. He just left some food and a note for the latter.
Jeff,
Call the EBA, they have some news for a unit. +660861504157
Perth
Okay, but what in the world is EBA? Jeff thought, confused.
He sent Perth a thank you message, eat the food, and showered. He received a message after.
📩PERTH: don't forget to call.
📩 JEFF: okay, but what is diva?
📩PETH: what diva?? EBA, Engineering Building Admin.
📩JEF: what the hell
Jeff giggled at the made up acronym and dialled the number on the note.
📞JEFF: Hello? Good afternoon, this is Jeff Satur and I'm calling with regard to my inquiry on an available unit.
📞ADMIN: Good afternoon! Please stay on the line and lemme check our record, thank you.
Silence on both ends of the line.
📞ADMIN: Thank you for waiting, Jeff. I see here that you were looking for a unit to rent?
📞JEFF: Yes
📞ADMIN: Well, currently, we only have an offer for a room. The unit owner is looking for a roommate and seems that he knows you? He went over the list of those inquiring and he requested to make the offer to you, if you will be interested.
Jeff raised his eyebrow, thinking who could that be.
📞ADMIN: It's Mr. Bible Sumettikul, are you familiar with him?
📞JEFF: Bible...did he leave his contact information and is it okay if reach out to him directly?
📞ADMIN: Sure! Let me send the details to you via email.
📞JEFF: Thank you, I really appreciate all the help.
Jeff received the email right after they end the phone call.
Bible, huh? You still remember me, afterall. Jeff mused with a smile.
Bible, a name he hadn't mentioned for a long time. They used to be neighbours and close with each other up to their first year in middle school, but Bible and his family needed to move because of the latters family business. At first they still tried to keep in touch with each other, however, life happened. A long distance friendship is as hard as any long distance relationship especially for kids like them.
Then Jeff saw Bible again here, but it seems that the latter doesn't remember him and never even glance his way.
