Kristine and Philip were all set and ready to leave at the stables. Philip checked everything over while Kristine scanned around for Daniel and Aiden. The journey should take at least 3 days to get there and back. Kristine sighed and leaned against the wall.
"We're going to be stuck with him for more than a week." She stated. Philip grunted,
"I know, but I swear I won't let him lay one finger on you." Kristine still hugged herself, she could tell how hell bent Aiden was to kill her. Kristine glanced back at Philip, and for some reason, she was more scared of Philip knowing the truth about her and Aiden. Finally, she saw Daniel walking towards the stables.
"Yay, you guys beat me." He yawned.
"Where's Aiden?" Kristine asked him as he walked past her. He waved his hand off at her before going to his own horse.
"I thought he would be here with you guys." Daniel said. Philip gave Kristine a confused look.
"Don't worry, I'm here." Aiden spoke before appearing around the corner and into the stables. Kristine glared at him as she turned to Philip. That's all she needs to do, is stay by Philip. Aiden lit up a rolled up stick of herbs, most likely tobacco, as he grabbed the reins of his horse. Kristine glared at him as she helped Philip gather everything on their horse.
"Let's head out." Philip announced. He helped Kristine on their horse first before jumping on. Aiden and Daniel followed behind on their horses as they turned onto the trail that led out of town.
"He is already making me feel uneasy." Kristine whispered to Philip.
"As I said before, I swear he won't hurt you." Philip whispered back.
After a couple of hours of riding, they stopped for a break. Philip immediately sat down on a large rock while Aiden lit another, what Kristine assumed was a stick of tobacco. Daniel opened his canteen and frowned.
"Hey Kristine, will you come with me to the lake? I need to refill this." He asked. She raised a brow at him, but shrugged. She could splash some water on her face while she's there. She followed Daniel down a trail that led to a lake. Philip raised a brow, but held his tongue.
"So, Kristine told me you were with her when she was imprisoned in the dungeon. Is that true?" Philip bluntly asked. Aiden turned to him with a glare. He took another puff before throwing the tobacco on the ground and smashing it under his shoe,
"Yeah, that's true. What else did she tell ya?" Philip gave him an odd look as he stood up.
"What do you mean? Just that you were imprisoned together and she thought you died." Philip said. There's no way she'd keep something from him. Aiden chuckled.
"Little bitch. You have no freaking idea what she's keeping from you!" He snapped. Aiden abruptly turned around while pointing at the direction Kristine and Daniel went,
"She is nothing but a fraud! Nice to see she's got another man hooked." Aiden practically yelled. Philip clenched his hands hard, his knuckles white as a sheet.
"If she is keeping something from me, she'll tell me on her own time." He defended Kristine. Aiden rolled his eyes.
"Fine." With that, he stormed off. Philip glared at him as he walked down the road a bit. Kristine and Daniel finally came back with water filled canteens.
"Hey, are you ok?" Kristine asked Philip. He took a deep breath, and sat back down on the large rock.
"Where'd the assassin man go?" Daniel asked as he looked around.
