Kristine bit her lip, pacing outside the infirmary. The man is alone in the room aside from whoever is treating him. Noah finally sprinted around the corner, holding something close to his chest. Nodding at each other, Kristine threw the door open. She held her stomach, pretending to be in pain.
"Help!" Kristine cried out. The nurse ran to her, immediately grabbing her shoulders.
"Oh sweetie! What's the matter?" She questioned. Kristine launched her hand to the woman's mouth, covering it with a damp cloth. Mumbling a sorry, Kristine kept her hand there until she passed out. Noah and her both gently placed the nurse on a cot.
"Alright, help me grab him." Noah walked over to the man laying in a cot.
"Wait wait, who the hell are you guys?!" He panicked, scooting away as Noah neared him. Since he was already injured, Kristine went ahead and threw a bag over his head. Together, Noah and Kristine dragged him out of the cot.
"Whoa! Hang on! I haven't talked to Shade yet!" He pleaded.
Slamming the man into a chair, Noah lifted the bag up. He looked more confused as he tried to look around. Kristine backed away, leaving it up to Noah as she shut the door behind her. He was at Noah's mercy now. Kristine knew Noah wanted her to keep watch, but she felt so useless just standing around.
Then the man screamed. She should have flinched, or been horrified by it. Instead Kristine loved it. This man helped torture her and Aiden. He fed off their pain and misery. Clenching her hands, Kristine barged back into the room.
"I told you to wait." Noah mumbled. Kristine didn't look at him, she stared at the man. He was already crying. Noah didn't make any new wounds, but his bandages bleed.
"I know, but I need to be a part of this." She whispered. Bending down to meet him eye level, she waited to see if he recognized her.
"Would you remember me if I screamed? Cried? What about if I was in pain?" Kristine asked him. Speaking in a low and calm voice.
"Wait, wait you're the girl. I was supposed to grab you. Fuck man." He looked away.
"You weren't blind before. What happened?" She asked. The man kept his face away, not speaking. Kristine swung her hand, backhanding him across the face. He cried out, spitting out blood.
"When you two escaped, Shade punished me." He mumbled. Kristine scoffed. How pathetic he is. She used to be terrified of him. Now it's her turn.
"Kristine," Noah grabbed her shoulder, gently tugging her away, "Let me talk to you first before you decide to do anything." He spoke so quietly, she had to read his lips. Nodding, the two stepped out of the room, closing it shut.
"He hurt us, Noah. Really badly." Kristine spoke calmly, keeping a hand on the doorknob.
"I caught that, but you really need to think about this." Noah carefully grabbed Kristine's hand.
"Why? It's not like I haven't done worse things!"
"I know, but you're still a good person. Could you really live with yourself if you tormented him? Could you sleep at night if you killed him?" Noah asked her. Kristine looked away. She's killed before, and sleeps just fine.
"You don't know a single thing about me, Noah. Would you stop Eveleen from torturing him?" Kristine asked, watching Noah roll his eyes.
"I just don't want you to act on rage. If you really want to, be my guest." He gestured to the door. She didn't hesitate. Kristine slammed the door open, marching over to the man still crying.
