The five kids hung some of their tops on nearby branches so their clothes could dry. Fai, Alex, and Y/N stayed on the sand as Phil and Anne went to explore a nearby ship thing by the shore. Fai then started to walk around in the sand.
Fai: Ugh! Sand is nothing like in the movies it gets everywhere!
Alex: You had never seen sand, grape girl?
Fai: ...My name is Fai.
Y/N: It get better when you're dry, Fai. It doesn't clump together like it does when you're wet.
The three then sat on a log with Fai curling her knees into her chest.
Alex: How did we end up here? Wher is here anyway?
Fai: That thing was a project. The tenth-graders we're working on it. But thats all I know. It was a category A project and I'm only in 5th grade.
Y/N: Catagory A?
Fai: Yeah. It means only agents and some seniors have access to the data.
Y/N: I know what it means, but why was it in a student lab if it's so secret?
Fai: Oh, everyone knows that they're trying to make it work. Students just don't know what it's supposed to do.
Alex: Great, now we do. We were thrown to some radioactive dump through an overpriced chute. Let me introduce you to a healthy Mit-octopus. Wonder if it's gonna be our new classmate.
Y/N: But that wouldn't explain that time shift-
Anne: Fai! Alex! Y/N!
The trio got up from the log and walked down to the shore to meet with their other two friends.
Alex: Did you find a radio?
Anne: I don't think so, no. But look!
She placed a large tablet down in the sand as Phil placed down a big box with a curved wire sticking out of it.
Anne: Do any of you know how to speak Russian? Maybe we can make this tablet work!
The three looked down at the tablet with confusion, shock, and fear.
Fai: Un, Anne...I-I don't think that's...
Alex gulped and turned to storm over to Phil.
Alex: What the Heck did you do?!
He grabbed Phil's shirt collar and continued to yell in his face.
Alex: You and cabbage girl activated that thing! What did you do? How did we end up here? Where is here? This is not Russian! And that is not a plane! What did you do? Say something frog face!
Fai shoved them apart and Y/N moved to sheild Phil from Alex with her small frame.
Fai: Stop it!
Alex: Shut up! It's all his fault! And her's!
Anne: Me?
Alex: She also made that monster Explode and won't tell us how-
Y/N: Just shut up!
Fai: Listen, you said you weren't a bully. Prove it.
Alex looked down and then turned away with a tear in his eye.
Alex: He ruins everything..
Anne: Alex, please wait! I did not mean to make that tentacle flower explode, but I...I touched the device. It's my fault we're here. I'm very sorry, everyone.
Fai: You didn't mean it, Anne. Let's just hope the teachers can fix the...
Phil: Portal.
We all whirled around to face Phil. He doesn't really speak that often so this came as a surprise. Phil looked really scared and covered his mouth with his hands.
Phil: Umm, it said...it said it was a portal.
The kids looked up at the rings in the sky, nearly hidden in the white clouds.
