This world...It is so beautiful. I cannot...It is so beautiful. Perfect. No, not this world. All of it. The entire universe is immaculate. Perfectly curated, laid out, made to be a tapestry of stars and endless stories. Everything had a role. It was all like a script, everything was meant to be perfect. Every sun, star, planet, piece of dust, person, it was all laid out by a creator. The Radiance. The Light. The holy presence of pure power, of cleansing, fortifying, protection. The Mother of this world. She was Order. Our universe was made from order, not chaos like so many thought. But there was one thing that broke the Radiance's plan. Amongst all the stars and planets, amongst all the creatures that roamed the universe, among the great script, there was one thing that stood out against her. Something that was beyond her control.
And that was darkness. It was a stain on the perfect tapestry of the universe, a blight that threatened to engulf everything in its path. The suns supernova, collapsing in on themselves and creating black holes of endless expanse, going to the land of the darkness. But it was not an issue. Radiance could tame the darkness by overwhelming it with light.
But then something else came. Chaos. Radiance was suddenly severed. Why? Why was the beauty ruined? Why was it tarnished? The Chaos devoured darkness, then it came for her again and again, each time worse. Tears streamed down my face. No! No! The chaos...It was so horrible! How could it...Ruin everything!
It then fled from her sheer power, going to...this world. This world...harboured chaos. Why? Why couldn't it-
Snap! I flashed back to reality. I was on the ground, Luna holding me by the arms with her legs, Kai standing nearby with his swords at the ready. Tyr was also there, laying on the ground. Luna pulled her hand away to reveal the piece of that stone sword I chipped off, throwing it away.
"Haud yer wheesht, ye daft wee bampot! Dae ye no ken whit ye've done?! Yer bliddy heid could huv been mashed intae a neep by that stane! Ye're lucky it didnae take yer heid aff! How could ye be sae daft?! Ye've nae notion whit ye could've daen-" Tyr was yelling at me, going full Scottish mode.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Luna yelled, punting Tyr. "It's your fault! You told him to chip a piece of the rock off! You instigated this!"
"Luna, it-"
"Shut it. You're not to blame here. You...You are, Head."
"Erm...What should I do?" Kai whispered to me as he helped me up. Man, the dude was really flexible for a man wearing around eighty pounds of armour!
"Just...Leave it, I guess?"
"Oh. As you wish." He said, walking away. As he did, Sumarbrander lifted into the air and drifted over to me, allowing me to take it again.
"Hey, um...Sumarbrander? Thanks for saving me in that fight."
The sunny feeling it gave off intensified, so I guessed it was happy I complimented it. Now...Luna. Perhaps I could try pacifying her and Tyr with the allegedly sunny powers the sword had.
"I do need your help though. Can you help me make those two stop arguing?"
The sword seemed to hum slightly, like it was thinking about my request. Then, it began to let off a soft glow of calming energy. Alright, time to try using my silver tongue.
"Hey, you two! Break it up, we're all fighting the same enemy!" I yelled, holding up Sumarbrander like it was a rallying flag. Or a flare. Whichever works better.
"You mean the enemy that HE could be working with?!" Luna screamed. "The pieces aren't meeting together properly. First, he willingly lets us try killing him, then AMAZINGLY advises us to come here of all places. While here, he runs into an old flame, who HAPPENS to give us full passage...right into Mad Maggie's open arms. Like it was planned."
"Come on, it was...Actually, yeah. What was up with that?" I asked. It seemed kind of suspicious, now that I thought of it.
"And here. He tries making you take a piece of a rockxcaliber, still hot from the fire, and shove it into your head. He KNEW you were going to go against his will, because he knows you wouldn't hurt him and take out an eye. And you were missing an eye already, so you would deduce it would make sense. Just the idea of retrieving a LEGENDARY SWORD to resolve a fairly domestic issue, from one of the most dangerous places in the world, is enough to warrant suspicion."
"Luna-" Tyr began.
"No! I'm not done. His stories. He HATES Asreil. I finally figured some things out!"
"Luna-" Tyr repeated.
"Asreil isn't the best, but he's not malevolent. Tyrson has been making us think that he is cruel, however, like he was setting us up for later plans. But I was thinking about all of the stories. He's been grooming us to trust him all this time! Manipulating us with promises of knowledge, or alleged knowledge, with his stories, while also sowing seeds of doubt in our minds!"
"Luna-" Tyr repeated, this time with a strong tone.
"AND he's a Lunatic! Reputedly once the greatest power in the world before The Crown, who also had one of the most dramatic and catastrophic downfalls! AND he's a Vampire! Immortal, willing to stew and fester in his hate, harness his craft, learn and figure out how to manipulate us! He was the one who figured out you had not just the blessings of Argu, but also other Deities! Something that we normal people can't do unless we have a Priest...Or if the person has some kind of true sight that allows them to see into others."
