Get our fins flapping and gills gasping when you participate in WP Indigenous' official #Mermay2023 contest, Water! Read below for details.
ABOUT: Water is important to many cultures and communities across the world. Water is a relative, water is culture, and water is life. In celebration of MerMay 2023 and our first contest, @WPIndigenous is challenging you to write a story following one of the three prompts below.
DETAILS & CRITERA:
No matter what prompt you pick, keep in mind that you must somehow include the quote, image and key words in your story. Whether they're at the top of your story, or directly incorporated into the writing, your story must relate to each aspect of the prompt in whatever way fits for you. Please state which prompt you're following at the beginning of your story.
All submissions will be judged on creativity, digestibility, and cover design.
Creativity = Is it original? Is it unique? Is interesting, is it keeping your readers engaged?
Digestibility = Is it easy to follow along? Does the punctuation/grammar hinder or enhance the reader's ability to understand your story? Does the overall story make sense?
Cover Design = Is your story cover high quality? Does it match what your story is about? Does it draw the reader in?Your story can be any number of chapters, but it must be complete upon submission. Please write no less than 500 words, and no more than 5000 words. All stories must be published on Wattpad for the duration of this contest.
Your submission can be any genre except non-fiction.
You may submit an unlimited number of stories. However, each story must be filled out as their own submission (no submitting multiple at once, please submit them all individually).
Submissions are open until 11:59pm PST on May 31st, 2023.
