"Guys, congratulations on the first demo with the new line-up!" Alex burst into the office with several boxes of steaming pizza and a jingling package in his hands.
"Oh, cool!"
"Come on, take it! We rebuilt everything on the fly and made it before the deadline! And why?!"
"Because we worked like dogs?"
"Because we worked like dogs! And because you are all awesome, and now we will drink until the security kicks us out!"
"And then we will drink with the security!" someone shouted, and friendly laughter rang through the office - a beautiful, already-forgotten sound. Everyone rustled packages, chatted with each other, and the air smelled of pizza. Finally, they could relax and not rush anywhere or try to assemble a system that had fallen apart with their hands.
Alex walked over to Eva, who was chewing on a slice of pizza, and poured champagne into her glass. "Admit it, did you arrange this on purpose when the boss is away?" Eva asked sarcastically, an obvious expression of satisfaction on her face.
Alex laughed. "Look, I didn't mean to ask, but I'm very curious," he said, his tongue loosened by the alcohol. "It's been a week already. How is she doing?"
"She's doing great," Eva replied. "She's recovering quickly, and she's already doing everything herself."
"Do you think it was just a momentary weakness?"
"I don't know, but it must have passed," Eva said with a shrug.
Suddenly, Alex's phone rang in his pocket. He reluctantly reached for it, looked at the display, and threw out a stunned "Impossible!" before flying out of the office with his phone. Eva just shrugged her shoulders in response to the questioning looks of her colleagues.
