LENA POV
"That was nice of you to grocery shop and start dinner, Sharon. You really didn't have to do that. I would have done it after I came back from work," I say as I had just gotten to Stef's house, only to walk in and smell something absolutely amazing while I heard soft classical music playing.
Being here was so surreal, yet there was a similar air about it but in a good way. Knowing that Stef and I were now married again and that she and the kids would be moving into my home was, well it was pure bliss. I still felt badly she would need to pack up YET AGAIN, and that the kids would need to as well, but we knew they did not mind considering we would all be a family again.
"Oh, it was nothing, babygirl. Your wife is in the shower by the way if you want to go see her," she continues chopping the vegetables for the salad as I laugh and shake my head.
"I guess you heard," I say as I grab a glass and pour myself some water from the fridge as she turns around and smiles at me.
"Oh, honey, I spoke to Stefanie's father and the news has spread like wildfire. Plus your children were ecstatic. I mean off the walls happy to the point they couldn't get to sleep that night. However, I knew it'd happen sooner or later, you, two sneaking around like teenagers in love. For what, a year or so?"
"Sharon, I-"
"Well, hey, there, Mrs. Adams Foster! Aren't you a beautiful site!" I hear as I turn around to see Stef walking into the kitchen in a pair of shorts and tank, her hair wet from the shower.
My heart rate picks up as I see her, and I feel myself blushing as she winks at me and pulls me to her, kissing me softly. Even if I had seen her during lunch, it felt like I just couldn't get enough of her right now, and I hoped that feeling would never change.
"How are you, honey?" I smile as she kisses me again before walking over to grab a cutting board to help with dinner.
"Better now that you're here," I whisper as she turns to look at me winking.
"Same, sweets. The gallery was okay?"
"Yes. The rest of the day was fine," I say which was true, for Denni didn't return to the gallery for the rest of the day.
"That's good, love," I walk over to Stef leaning against the counter as she starts to chop some lettuce glancing back at me and smiling as Sharon soon breaks us out of our trance.
"Stefanie, put that down. You've had a long couple of days. Dinner tonight is on me. Sit with your wife or go for a walk. Do something together. Callie will be here with the kids soon from the bakery."
Turning to look at Sharon now Stef folds her arms across her chest for I knew she was going to dig into her about what was going on with Stefanie if she hadn't already.
"So, where's Stefanie, Ma? Mm? Since I just found out this morning she was fired from the bakery, and I'm pretty sure you KNOW WHY! So where-"
"Stef," I grab her hand as she ignores me, zoning in on her mom.
"Oh, honey. I didn't want to bombard you and Lena with that right now. We will have time to talk and everything about her."
"Now seems like a good time to talk since the kids aren't here. So, talk, Ma. What's going on with my goddaughter? Because I went by earlier, called, she wasn't there. Mike denies knowing anything about this alleged fight between her and Callie, and so does Julius. So what's the deal? Since I can't get an answer from anyone!"
Sharon opens the oven now as she checks on the roast before sighing and tossing the oven mitts looking back at the both of us.
"Stefanie, you don't have to get all hot about it. Please sit. Please sit with your wife and relax and breathe. I was going to talk to you, and asked everyone to not saying anything until I did."
