About 20 minutes later, the water stopped.
I open my eyes.
My eyes felt gloomy, or tired.
I guess that is what happens when you have your eyes shut for a pretty long time.
I bit my lip, as I got up slowly.
I was in no rush, so I could just take my time on it.
I was leaning on the bedroom door, as I waited for Maeve so I was able to clean the blood off me.
It was probably going to take some work because of dry blood in my hair, but at least I was able to clean myself.
With an actual shower.
Not a river or anything.
That would have been not good, and I would not have enjoyed that.
Then the door opened.
Maeve's curly hair was wet from the water.
As more of her hair then usual dangled over her face.
She was wearing the clothing I had picked out.
The blue jeans, black shirt, and brown leather sweater.
It also had a hood I noticed.
She smiled.
Her skin was smooth, clean from any trace of blood.
"Your turn." she said.
I nodded.
I went over to the bedroom. (the door was open) and I got out clothing from the drawer.
A plain white T-shirt, dark blue jeans, and a black Adidas sweater.
I had no idea what Adidas meant, but it was a sweater, so It did not matter to me.
I took the folded clothing and went to the bathroom.
Maeve closed the door behind me.
I nodded.
I locked the door.
As I started to undress, and got into the shower.
There was soap in the corner of the shower, I just noticed.
It will help get the stained blood out.
I turned on the shower.
It was hot water then went down, but a reasonably hot, not a scotching I-want-to-get-out-of-here-before-I-die kind of hot.
I let the water pour down, washing some of the blood away.
I then used the soap to assist the water to get the blood off of my skin.
The water was very good, I felt like I could live here.
I started to get myself cleaned.
. . .
I finished about 15 minutes later.
I turned off the water, not wanting to waste time, or the water.
I got out of the shower by opening the glass door, and got a towel, starting with my face so I was able to see properly.
Then I continued with everything else.
Once I was considerably dry, I started to put the new set of clothing on.
I also put the white stained sweater over the water despenser on the counter, then hung it up over the glass for the shower.
I looked at myself in the mirror.
My hair looked darker because of the water, and it looked . . . silky?
I looked different from the usual mop I had.
My body was clear of any blood, I felt normal, Like everything that had happened in my life was just a nightmare, and I woke up to this happy reality, where everything is normal.
I stared into the mirror, and did that for about two minutes.
Then I snapped out of it.
I unlocked the door, and opened it.
I see in the bedroom, on one of the beds, Maeve was reading a book.
A book!
I felt excitement.
She seemed ingaged with it, her brown eyes scanning along the pages.
I walked along the two feet hallway, which was the gap between the bathroom and bedroom.
I then walked over to the bed that was unoccupied.
As I sat down onto the mattress .
Without looking up at me, Maeve spoke.
"Hello." She smiled, but I could not tell if she was smiling at me, or the book she was reading. Not that it mattered.
It made me happy that she was happy.
"Hello." I responded.I looked, or tried to see the title of what she was reading.
"What are you reading?" I asked, curious.
She thought for a second.
"I am looking at art, sketches." she smiled.
As she flipped the page.
I nodded.
"Cool!"
In truth I was acting dumb, I never heard of art.
Or sketches.
But I did not want to admit that.
I bit my lip.
"I will leave you to it."
She put the book down, double checking her page before she put it down.
Which I would do too.
Because losing your page in a book, then trying to find it, I can imagine that being a real pain.
I did not actually know if it was a pain, I did not experience it, but I can imagine it being a pain.
Quite easily.
"How was the shower?" she asked.
I nodded.
"It was good." I said.
I put my now clean hands into my pockets.
"Good to know." She said, nodding.
I nodded in agreement.
"Well, we have a big day tomorrow." I said to Maeve.
Maeve nodded.
The moonlight showed her facial expression.
"Well, goodnight." she said. As she laid onto the bed.
I laid down onto the bed, getting comfy.
"Goodnight Maeve." I then closed my eyes.
As I slipped into sleep.
