I woke up, slowly opening my eyes.

I liked being called Nate, or Nathan, it'll get some getting used too, but it is not like I was called Jake a lot, it was more just "boy" or "subject" or "kid" so I shouldn't take too long to grow used to Nathan.

I see that Maeve was awake.

Staring at the ceiling, breathing peacefully.

In the dark clothing, it fit well with her.

I turned my head to the ceiling, it was brown along with all the walls.

It was a warm feeling.

"Hello." Maeve said.

I was a little startled by this, but I guess it was foolish to think she wouldn't notice me being awake.

Very observant, that is for sure, I say that without a doubt.

I bit my lip.

"Good morning Maeve." I said, as I stared at the ceiling intensely.

"Did you sleep well?" She asked

I thought for a moment, I do not know how I slept.

But I think I slept well?

I think anyway.

Well I feel well rested so I would assume good.

"I think I slept well, I feel well rested so that is what I assume. How about you?"

I heard her shallow breathing, as she thought of an answer.

"I did, thank you for asking, about 10 hours actually. 10 to 8? It is 8:20 right now actually." she shuffled, as she sat up.

"Oh, Interesting." I said, as I sat up as well.

I had my legs crossed while I got up from the pillow, the very comfy pillow.

It was plain white, but it was comfy so why should I complain?

We got a place to live our life.

A normal life!

And I thought I would never have that.

Maeve pointed to the bedside table between our beds.

"The food for you is there, I already had his, it tasted good, so yours is there." She nodded to the table.

"Oh, okay thank you." I slid to the side of the bed.

I see the plate of food on the table.

It had grapes I think it was?

As well as what I had last night, toast that was lightly toasted.

And an apple juice.

A small cup of it but it was there so that is fantastic to know.

I grabbed the plate, and started to eat the meal provided.

Maeve moved to sit across from me.
"So, we never actually talked in general, what is your favorite color?"

I stared blankly.

As I looked up at her.

She looked away, slightly embarrassed.

"Sorry too simple a question, my bad."

I laughed.

"No it is quite alright, I was just surprised is all." I nodded.

"Oh." she said.

She did a thumbs up.

"Good to know."
"Hmmm." What is my favorite color?
