" Im a burden."

" You're not." Ale says. " A burden is  something you're forced to carry against your will , and i freely choose to be apart of your life. That means you are not a burden to me."

The light music and beeping noise from cash registers suddenly become louder once he stops speaking. Ive been staying at Alejandro's house for more than a month now. Ive been neglecting my house ever since ive been with Ale. He has been doing everything in his power to make me feel comfortable and i love it. But i just feel like im burdening him with my presence. He has a life and im pretty sure he wants to be alone in his own home , but with me there it isn't possible.

" I know that , but i still feel like im just a bother to you." I sigh while he grabs a box of cereal off of the metal shelves. " You probably have a nice girl you want to bring over or friends but you cant cause im there."

He turns around swiftly placing the box of cereal into the cart. " Oh trust me , i have no interest on bringing anyone home.." He states. " Especially a girl." He grumbles while walking away. " Why not?" I question.

He prentends to not here me but by his body language, i knew he did. I push the cart into the back of his ankles growing annoyed. He yells before turning around to me. " Hey watch where you're going.." He rolls his eyes before turning away.

" I know you heard me Ale.. why not?" I ask once again before stopping the shopping cart. He turns towards me and takes long strides from his position. " I don't have interest in anyone." He answers truthfully before turning back around. We walk up to the cashier in silence. Once we get to the conveyor belt , He starts placing stuff on it.

" Alejandro?" The cashier's voice causes me and him to both look up. I look at the cashier and something about him seems familiar. The brown haired man smiles while analyzing Ale's face. Ale looks just as confused as me right now , trying to figure out how he even know Ales name. " Come on man , you don't remember me?" The cashier tries his best to help Ale remember. I analyze the man looking for a name tag but instead I find something way more interesting. A silver necklace with a pair of wings. Suddenly I get a random memory with that same necklace. I have that necklace... but mines was a little different.

My grandmother gave me a similar one just like that and told me it was one of a kind and had been passed down in my family for generations.

" Its one of a kind , my little swan." my grandmother place the cold chain around my neck , clasping the pins. I look into the silver framed mirror , that stands in the corner of my room in the cabin. It looks so beautiful..

My grandmother stands up and places her delicate hands onto my shoulders. " When ever you feel unsafe , just use this and think of home. Cover the wings and say to your self , ' i am home'." She instructs me softly.

" What do the wings mean? " I turn to ask her. She gave me a soft smile before walking over to my bed. She sit on the edge patting the empty spot next to her. I climb up filling in the spot.

" You remind me of the moon , so bright and beautiful." She states while grabbing my hand.

god, why is that all I can remember?

" It's me... Kai."

Alejandro immediately comes to realization of who the man is once he says his name. " Oh oh Kai , hello how've you been?" Alejandro ask while continuing to place the bagged groceries into the cart. As I look at this guy , I've never seen him before. Of course I've met most of Ale's friends, but he has never mentioned anyone named Kai. But I feel like i've seen him before , just not with Ale. I can't recall it but his presence feels familiar. " I have been good , just been a little worried about you because you haven't contacted me in a while." Kai voice becomes full of worry. " I know I've been so caught up with work." Ale states before putting the final bags into the cart.
