" and here comes the sun.." I whisper to myself while staring out the window as the sunrises. lately sleep hasn't been on my agenda , when the moon is up , i'm up. I get off the couch and walk towards the kitchen to make a cup of instant coffee. The sound of the glasses clinking together must've woken up ale , because I hear him walking down the stairs.

" never knew you were an early bird.." he smiles while walking around the kitchen island.

" me either , but I've been up all night so." I tell him while sliding a cup of coffee towards him. I take a little sips while he practically gulps his down. I give him a concerned look because of how he downed the hot drink in a matter of seconds. " you're not normal at all.." I say before sipping my some more of my coffee and walking back to the living room.

" im very normal , way more normal than you'll ever be." he states while crossing his arms. I didn't even realize he was shirtless... His muscles nearly tear through the layer of skin that he uses to protect it. I couldn't help but to gawk at him in a subtle , unnoticeable way. I just watch as the sunlight peaks from behind me and shines over his golden skin. Ale has always been attractive to me but i've never seen him as anything more than my bestfriend. He was handsome from the depth of his eyes to the gentle expressions of his voice. He was handsome from his generous opinions to the touch of his hand upon my own. I loved the way his voice quickened when he sparkled with a new idea, or was so enjoying one of mine that he lost himself for a moment and quite forgot the mask he wore for others.

" issy , hello?" he practically snaps me out of whatever fantasy land I was just in. I didn't even know I was staring at him so long.

" yeah.. um sorry , what'd you say?"

the doorbell rings and out of embarrassment I stalk straight to the door. I look through the peep hole before opening it. I grab the handle of the door and as I open it , a familiar person appears.

" Officer Keegan , what are you doing here?" I question the officer who took over the case of my parents death. Everyone around me still believes that the house fire was no accident. " Im sorry issy , I hope i'm not intruding." He states while looking behind me. I didn't notice last minute that Ale appeared behind me.

I shake my head as the officer smiles softly. He then pulls out some papers from a white envelope and hands them to me. I take a look through them as they are pictures of my grandparents cabin and a few paper works.

" Can I come in?" He ask while taking off his brown hat. Ale must've noticed the change in my expression and body language and immediately gave me a hug from behind. I felt his chest pressed against my back and his chin nuzzled into my neck. I let out a heavy breath before looking up at the officer and letting him in.

I walk in and lead him to the kitchen as ale locks the door. I stand on the opposite side of the island of him , as he places his hat down in front of him. I continue to look at the photos as they bring back so many memories.

" wh- what are these for Keegan?" I question him dropping my hands to the counter with the papers. I hold back all the emotions that suddenly erupted the moment I was handed those pictures.

" Your grandparents left the title of the cabin in your name along with everything inside of it. Since the house has been empty , the state troopers are either asking you to put it up for sale or rent it out to someone. I know it's a bit soon but , issy someone has to occupy that cabin , even if it's for a few days."

" The cabin isn't bothering anyone though , wouldn't it be preferred that the cabin stay empty?" Ale questions.

" Unfortunately , based on some new law that passed , if the house hasn't had a residence in the past 90 days it would be renounced as abandon property. With the crazy town we live in , people will take that as a sign to do casual break - ins and trust me they will take everything." Keegan explains to us. I couldn't imagine going to visit up there and the place I called home was damaged.
