“Finally, we are back home. Let’s go and meet Dechen” said Yuphel as she lunged out of the cab. As I carried my bag to our flat, Yuphel ran through the door and whispered “Be quiet, you have to see this”. Without questions I silently opened the door and before me. On the sofa Dechen and Chimmi were sleeping soundly whilst hugging one another. I was shocked, I did not know my sister was capable of human feelings. There were no bruises on Chimmi’s face so it was clear she didn’t hit him when he hugged her. While I was still debating whether my sister was finally human or not, Yuphel brought a blanket for the two. “You go and freshen up, I will make us dinner” said Yuphel. I went to my room and thought. Ever since I have met her, my world has changed for the better. My once dark and bland flat, was now brimming with light and colour. Even my sister had changed. Yuphel had changed our lives for the better, but whats to happen after it is done? Still lost in my thought I was not able to hear Yuphel calling for me. “You useless brother, have you finally gone deaf?” said Dechen before throwing the blanket. “Come fast, the food will get cold” After she had left I decided that I need to change as well, I need to escape my comfort zone. I picked the card from my drawers and called her. “I am ready. What do you need from me?” I asked. The woman laughed and replied “I knew you would call, I always get what I want. Anyways I need you to make a portrait, I will send you the details through text. I am giving you the artistic freedom, don’t let me down.
After the call I went to the dining area, there my family? Family? Yes, they are my family. All of them sat around the table laughing and smiling, I also smiled. I was happy and content with the life I now had. “Stop smiling, it’s creepy. Sit down and let’s eat.
While the three spend their days in school, I painted the portrait. The woman’s requirements were
1. Dark themed
2. Flowers

Following the requirements I spent a day making my first draft. The flower was a simple white lily but it still lacked something. “Maybe add some sparks on the flower, like its fading to darkness” said Yuphel. “You are right, maybe ill add that. Hold up, Wait a minute. Where did you come from?” I asked while lunging from my seat. “Well it is 6 pm now, so I came here to fetch you. Well I was not aware that you were good in art.” She said as she examined my draft. “I just wanted to try something new, remember that card?” I said after picking myself up. “That person wanted me to make an art based on her requirements.” “Wow! That’s awesome. Lets hope it will impress her.” She said. As we closed the shop and went back home, I asked her. “Can you tell me your last regret?”. She remained silent for a while, then she quickly smiled and said “It’s a secret, for now”.
“So how did you meet that woman? Why did she ask you for an art piece?” Yuphel asked. “Last week when I was managing the shop, she saw me scribble some drawings on a piece of paper. She liked my style and gave me her card.” I answered by lying. I could not tell her that I had made her portrait of her, it would have been creepy. “I cant wait to tell the others about your art” she said with a proud smile. She was always my biggest and only cheerleader, it was the boost I needed to finish my work. The following day, I called the woman saying that it was done. After giving the painting to a man sent by her, I received my payment. After seeing the payment, I realized this was my purpose in life. It gave me the confidence to finish my painting of Yuphel and I finally did it. On the bottom of the muse, I wrote “I love you”. Although it was simple, it is true. I in fact love her; there is nothing in this world I want more than her love. I hyped myself up to confess to her. I closed the shop early and went to a saloon. I had seen Dechen and Yuphelfangirling over an actor on television. I got the hairstyle of the actor and got a manicure and pedicure. My hair was usually long and messy but it looked good now. I bought some sweets from Aunty Kezang’s bakery. I still had two hours left till school got over, I decided to call the only person I knew who an expert on dating. “You want to confess to a girl? Wait, I’ll be there soon” said Kuenzang after I called him. Minutes later he jumped out of cab and sprinted towards me. “Wow, you changed your look. You must really like this girl, so how long have you known her?” Kuenzang asked. “One year now” I answered. “Ok, what does she mean to you? What do you like about her?” he continued.  I thought carefully, but all I could conjure in my mind was her smiling face. “Every time I look in her eyes, I can my see future in it. If life was a cold bottomless ocean, she would be the lifeboat coming to my rescue. She has made reality better than fiction for me, sometimes I stay up late just thinking about her smile.” I spoke my heart out and I just smiled. Everything I do, I want to do it for her. “My friend, you don’t need my help. Just be yourself, she will accept. It worked for me” he said as he leaned to hug me. We spoke more but when I realized I was late I ran back home with the painting. With my heart beating faster than it ever did, I opened the door and I was greeted by Dechen and Chimmi. “Where is Yuphel?”
