Chapter 8

“Do you think she’s awake?”

“Shhh let her sleep.”

“Wait, she’s waking up.”

Dana awoke to the sound of familiar voices. Dana groaned and pulled the covers over her head. Aubrey pulled them back. Dana was forced to open her eyes. When she did, she saw Riley, Aubrey, and Sir Aaron standing over her. She noticed Lucario had returned to his Poke ball. She felt alone.

“Dana, we’ve been looking all over for you,” Aubrey said, “It was snowing hard out there, but now it’s clear.”

“I’m sorry I had you guys looking, I was scared,” Dana apologized. She felt defenseless without Lucario.

“Well, it’s just good to see that you’re okay,” Riley said relieved. Dana tried not to look into his eyes.

“Do you feel up to becoming an Aura Guardian?” Sir Aaron asked.

It’s going to be alright, I’ll be right there with you. Lucario’s words echoed in Dana’s head. “I’m unsure, but I think I could.”

“Okay then! Let’s go!” Aubrey announced. Dana got up and followed Aubrey. Lucario came out of his Poke ball. Everyone noticed.

“So, you got yourself a Lucario? Good! Now we don’t have to teach you how to catch one!” Sir Aaron exclaimed.

Lucario walked beside Dana.

So they found you? Lucario asked smiling.

“Yes,” Dana whispered silently. The group walked out of the Pokemon Center, and towards Snowsharp Temple.

Are you okay? You’re shaking. Lucario observed.

“I don’t know if I can do this,” Dana whispered again.

Remember, I’ll be right there with you. Lucario assured her.

Dana nodded. Lucario held her hand. It’s going to be alright. Dana kept telling herself.

They got to the chamber where they were yesterday. Dana felt like running away again like she did the yesterday, but Lucario caught her.

You’ll have to face your fear sometime, why not now? Lucario thought. Dana relented again. She let Sir Aaron put her in the same position that she was the day before. He told Lucario to step away, but Lucario would not move. Sir Aaron smiled as if it was a joke. Lucario held Dana’s hand.

“Okay, Lucario, let’s go!” Sir Aaron yelled. All four Lucario, except for Dana’s were ready to transform Dana. Dana held on to Lucario for dear life as she was surrounded by a blue light. She was lifted off the ground and was suddenly in the air. The blue light shone so brightly, not even sunglasses could protect your eyes from it. Brighter and brighter the light showed, and the harder and harder it was to see Dana. Dana was finally placed back on the ground, but she couldn’t stand and let herself fall softly on the ground as the light wore away.
