Chapter 5. The Living.

"She's... dead," He starts softly crying again in your arms and you drop to your knees, "Dad is gone... he's not dead, but he's missing,"

Waterfalls start coming out of your eyes as he told you this. You didn't make a single noise, but your expression fell even more as the gravity of the situation came into your head.

"Mo," you paused, "Ther is... dead?"

"I'm truly sorry, (Y/N)... I was a coward and I couldn't kill the Titan.." Hannes says with a shaky breath.

You shook your head trying to come back to reality, "We have to go..." You stood up, "By now the Scouts would have been called back. I have half a tank of gas for my ODM... it's enough to get to the other gate. What about you... Hannes?" You say in a monotone voice.

"I have plenty... Mikasa, hold on very tightly," Hannes instructs Mikasa and she nods. She gets on Hannes' back and holds on for her life.

"Eren... get on my back and hold on,"

Eren listens as he gets onto your back, it felt like he was choking you but you didn't care at this moment. You took out your blades and start using the ODM to get back to where you normally were before this all started.

You have now lost two mothers in a single lifetime and your dad is missing... you only have your brother left.

You and Hannes get to the inner gate, "We have to hurry Hannes! It looks like they are going to close the gate soon!" You say in a rush.

"Hey, you four! Hurry! We are closing this gate in a minute!" Someone from the Garrison yelled at us.

"No, they possibly can't! They can't when they have a lot more people who are still out here?!" Hannes gives you Mikasa, "Go to the boats! I'm staying here for a minute!"

You hold onto Mikasa as Eren is still on your back, you ran as fast as you could to the boats, "Come! Hurry!" The MPs say as they move their hand in a forward motion.

Once you were on the boat you saw the gate being smashed in! It was a Titan that had armor all over it! Was this the end?

As the boat started to move there was only one other boat that they were filling. But the crowd had at least 2 or 3 thousand people trying to get on... so many people are dying and you were powerless.

"Eren! Mikasa!" You turn your head to see a little blonde boy with blue eyes call out to them.

"Armin!" Eren gets up and makes sure that his friend is okay. You hoped Levi was okay...

After a while on the boat you saw Eren get up, he was crying angrily and he balled his fists, "I'll kill them... I'll kill every single Titan!" He has his balled fists over the railing.

"Eren..." Mikasa says in a worried tone and was still sitting down.

When you and everyone else got off from the boat you were in Wall Rose. This felt like the same thing was happening again from when you were 12. But now you were in your father's shoes and Eren was in yours.

It was absolute chaos. The food storage that was once filled high with food was empty and filled with people now.

"(Y/n)... what's going to happen to us," Eren clings to your right arm.

"I don't know, but I'll make sure you are safe," You gave him a weak smile and rubbed the top of his head.

"If there are any Scouts in here you need to return to base immediately!" An MP shouts.

"You're leaving us?!"Mikasa widens her eyes.

"As I said, I will make sure you are in good hands before I leave," You look around and you see Armin and who must be his grandpa, "Hey excuse me, but I am in trusting you with my brother and his friend in your care! I will make sure you guys are well-fed and safe!" You devoted your heart as you did the salute.
