She walked inside her apartment throwing her bag on the couch as she walked into the kitchen to grab some water, turning around she almost choked on her water as she saw a dead bird laying at her window, it was stabbed by a butter knife.
Running down to her building manager she called him to show him the dead animal by her window which was either killed and placed there by someone or it was stabbed and it somehow flew and died by her window, either way she was disturbed at the sight, her building manager assuring her he'll figure out a way to not let that happen again as he left with the dead animal in a bag.
She sighed as she sat on the couch, turning the tv on she began watching the news, everything was about the new rise in crime, murders, kidnappings and gangs that were being discovered by the police, she didn't find it interesting rather upsetting to watch, turning the tv off she got up to go make herself dinner, while making dinner she was again thinking and didn't realise as she cut her hand with the knife, it was a small cut and it was usual for her to sometimes get scratches or cuts due to being clumsy.
Looking for a bandage she heard her doorbell ring suddenly, walking to the door she looked through the peekhole to see no one outside, she slowly opened the door to see no one again, she closed the door thinking it would be some child playing ding dong ditch or some silly game they usually play.
She made herself a warm meal and enjoyed while watching her favorite show, suddenly she felt a strange sensation as if someone was watching her, she got up and her entire apartment and doors and windows to calm herself down.
She shaked the feeling off thinking it was just her being paranoid due to the dead bird she saw that day, feeling tired she layed down in her bed as she soon fell asleep.
Unbeknownst to her someone walked into her room, as that someone slowly caressed her cheek, smirking seeing the girl sleep peacefully with no realisation of what she had gotten herself into.
