Hello! I am back with a new story idea...

I got a basic overview over this story and let me tell you... there will be angst.. so if that's not you're kind of thing you might want to skip this story...

but the first chapter is pure wholesomeness so dig deep <3

Hope you enjoy it! Love, Kusmi XOXO

PS:  The word "par" is a genderneutral term kids call their parent (It's short for parent and is used like mom, dad, etc.) just hought I'd mention this in case some of you don't know

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raine Whispers looked up from the document they were working on, set the quill aside and stretched for a moment. It was a day like every other day. The sun burned bright all day long above the boiling isles.

Things surely changed a lot after they got rid of Belos, together with their family. It was peaceful and they longed for every day to last an eternity. It was perfect.

Raine smiled, knowing in a few hours they could finish up work and go back home to their wife and 3 children. Eda, King and the twins were their most precious treasures.

The time appeared to be frozen while they tried to fill the stupid document on some robbery, the ex-head of the bard coven couldn't concentrate on anything anymore. They just wanted to go home and spend the evening with their family. They decided to leave the document for tomorrow and head to their favourite place in the world. The Owl House.

As head of BIS – Boiling Isles Security – they had a lot of paperwork to do. They didn't mind, it was mostly a very quite job since they were seldomly called out into the field. They just had very long working hours because crime never seems to sleep.

When they entered the house it smelled of Eda's absolutely delicious stew. Raine had always loved Eda's cooking but her stew was out of this world. Their mouth watered up.

„Calamity, I'm home!" they called out. It wasn't five seconds later that two pairs of tiny feet were heard on the wooden stairs.

„Par's home!" one of the 3 year old twins shouted, sprinting towards their parent. Both twins reached out to be picked up by their par.

„Hey droplets. Where did you leave your mommy?" Raine asked while peppering both kids with kisses. The little girl, mint hair and big yellow eyes, rested her head on Raines shoulder. Her brother started playing with Raine's round golden earring.

„Mommy is upstairs. Helping King with homework." Aedan, the boy, answered after he finished inspecting Raine's jewelry.

„We're all done. We'll be coming downstairs to eat in a minute, could you set the table, Rainestorm?" Eda called from upstairs, obviously listening in on the conversation.

„Sure, love." They called back.

The bard put the kids down and went to the kitchen with them. Their daughter Elaine clung to their trousers all the way to the kitchen. She hasn't spoken a word since Raine came back, which was weird because usually there was no end to her babbling.

Raine squatted down and took her into their arms.

„What's wrong droplet? You're so quiet today." They put a strand of her mint hair behind her ear. She seemed to have something on her mind as she started grabbing the hem of her shirt. She got that from them, they thought while waiting for their daughter to tell them what's wrong.

„I saw a creepy man today." She said without further explanation. Raine was perplexed. Usually her concerns where more along the lines of: „Aedan pushed me" or „Aedan stole my toys."

„What creepy man?" they asked, hoping she just mistook someone they knew for a strange person. „What did he look like?"

The little girl started to think. „He was tall.. Big! Really big! He wore only black clothes... and a hat." She explained while scooting closer towards her par.

The bard tried to think of anyone that description could fit to. But no-one came to mind. They decided to ask Eda about it later.

„Well, my little dewdrop, no one is going to hurt you, because your mom and I will protect you and your brothers with our lives!" They assured her while booping her nose. It seemed to help, because now her attention shifted towards her brother who tried setting the table alone. One of the plates was already on it's way to the ground as Raine reached out to grab the second one.

Eda joined them in the kitchen just to find her partner juggling 3 plates and some cutlery and her kids laughing and applauding their parent.

„Look at you, Rainestorm. You could've joined a circus with that!" The grey-haired witch joked. She took the plates off of her partner, set them on the table and gave Raine a welcome-home-kiss.

„Blegh! Mommy and par are kissing!" the little girl said, sticking her tongue out in disgust. Aedan didn't seem to care much, he just held his belly and screamed „I'm hungry!"

„Yeah yeah, sit down you little rascal" Eda said while picking her son up and seating him in his chair. Raine sat Elaine down and started serving the stew.

King joined them shortly after. Raine noticed every day how much he'd grown since the first time they met him. He was slowly growing into a teen Titan.

The family spent a nice evening together, after dinner they played some card- and boardgames until it was time for the kids to go to bed. The couple tucked all 3 kids in and showered them in goodnight kisses before heading to bed themselves.

Eda was already in bed and half asleep when Raine came back from the bathroom. They usually took longer getting ready for bed than their wife. Eda just brushed her teeth and cleaned her face with soap, while Raine had a complete skin care routine.

They joined their wife in the nest and snuggled closer. She placed her head on their chest and they embraced her, kissing her hair.

„Hey, did Elaine mention anything about a creepy man today?" They asked, thinking about what their daughter had told them earlier.

„What? No she didn't say anything!" Eda lifted her head and Raine could see the panic in her eyes. Ever since the whole Belos/ Collector incident, Eda was a bit – well not paranoid – rather careful. She jumped at the slightest unfamiliar sound and looked over her shoulder more than once when they were out with the kids.

„Don't panic. Im sure it's nothing. She said it was a big man wearing all black and a hat. Maybe it was just someone passing by." Raine tried to calm their wife.

„Yeah, of course, I guess youre right." She said, trying to make herself believe it. The owl lady rested her head back on her partner's chest and listened to their heartbeat. It always calmed her down. She was more than happy that they got back to this level of comfort with each other, after all these years.

With those soothing thoughts both of them slowly drifted off into the world of sleep.
