The next morning started fairly quickly as Steve and I packed our things up and left to rescue the men.

Peggy joined us on the plane as we flew to the place where the Germans were keeping the men. A man named Howard flew the plane as Peggy and Steve went over our plans.

"The camp is tucked between these two mountain ranges." Peggy said. Howard turned around and told us he should be able to drop us right on the doorstep. I zoned out while Steve and Peggy talked and only started listening again when Peggy gave us little metal boxes. She explained that they were transponders we needed to use for them to find us again. Suddenly the plane shook and we heard gunfire. As soon as Steve realized we were being fired at he grabbed my arm and drug me toward the side of the plane, getting ready to jump. He told Peggy to turn the plane around as soon as he and I were gone. We jumped through the artillery fire and landed safely on the ground.

Steve and I ran through a foggy forest until we saw the camp, surrounded by wire fences and patrolled by men and searchlights. Steve yanked me down to the ground as some trucks drove by us headed for the gate. We got up as the last truck passed and quietly jumped inside only to be greeted by well armored German soldiers. We threw them out the back of the truck and were able to sneak past the guards without being noticed. We ran through the camp, crouching behind crates and running between tanks until we got to a building. Steve took out the guard by the door and we ran through the warehouse, hiding behind more crates and managing to avoid anyone else. I found some small boxes that were glowing blue and grabbed some, hoping they were some kind of weapon. We snuck around until we found the cages where they were keeping the men. I took out one of the guards and Steve grabbed keys off of his belt and began unlocking the cages while I lead the men into an area all together. I started asking the men if they had seen a Sargent James Barnes. One of them mentioned an isolation ward in the factory and suggested looking there. Though they added that no one had ever come back from there. Steve told the men where to meet him outside the factory and sent me with them while he went to look for Bucky.

We held our ground outside and the men were doing very well. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. I fought hard but found I couldn't fight three men at once. I started to run away from them but soon felt a sharp pain in my leg. I stopped and looked down to find a knife embedded in my thigh. Looking up, I saw a single soldier running toward me. I pulled out the knife, threw it back, and started running again, hoping there was no one else chasing me. I briefly looked back to see the man getting closer and tripped on a piece of stray metal. The last thing I saw was the ground getting closer, then I blacked out.

-----

I woke up hearing voices and felt a strong hand gripping my arm. I looked up to see a man in black leather with short, dark hair talking to Steve from across a bridge. He threw me against a wall and I groaned, knowing my ribs were broken. The man walked closer to Steve but I couldn't tell what they were saying. I watched them start fighting and Steve kicked him back toward me. Someone off to the side pulled a lever and the bridge moved apart, separating the two men. I looked behind Steve and was relieved to see that he had found Bucky.

"You should leave before you get hurt, Captain!" I heard the man say. "Or before your pretty friend back here gets hurt either."

I looked over at Steve as he realized who was the man was talking about.

Bucky glared and yelled, "Don't you dare hurt Makayla! I will kill you myself if you even scratch her!"

The man just laughed and turned to leave, picking me up roughly and dragging toward an elevator.

"What are you going to do to me?" I asked weakly. The man turned his head to look at me and I saw the monster he truly was.

"You will see my dear girl." he replied as he injected me with something. "You will see your hand in the rise of hydra and the fall of Captain America."

I heard nothing else as my world turned black.
