With Darkness now a member of their group, Kazuma, Megumin, and Darkness formed the Marauder's Guild, taking on quests and battling monsters across the land. However, not everyone was happy with Kazuma's rise to power.
One such hero was Kyouya Mitsurugi, who had a dream in which Aqua warned him about Kazuma's growing influence and potential for villainy. He was alway accompanied by his close teammates, Clemea and Fio.

When Mitsurugi and his group stumbled upon Kazuma and his team, tensions were high. Darkness was eager to fight with him while Megumin wanted to blow him sky high.
Mitsurugi warned Kazuma about the dangers of wielding Draupnir, but Kazuma replies that his warning sounded hypocritical due to the fact that he had also a divine weapon and told him that Aqua only wanted to mess with him.
Kazuma and Mitsurugi engaged into a close battle, with Kazuma wielding a spear made from the power of Draupnir, while Mitsurugi drew his cursed sword Gram. The battle was intense and ended in a draw, with both warriors acknowledging each other's skill. Clemea and Fio didn't agreed with the draw and Kazuma told them that he wouldn't mind to accept a challenge to him , telling them that he would humiliate them if he was challenged because he learned the skill Steal previously.

Before anything escalated, Kazuma then revealed that he was well aware of the dangers of Draupnir and proposed that Mitsurugi's group join forces with the Marauder's Guild to defeat the Devil King. Though Mitsurugi declined, he said that they would be Marauder's Guild allies only until their common enemy was defeated. An alliance was forged out of rivalry.
As Mitsurugi and his two girls walked away, Kazuma turned to his teammates and declared that he would defeat the Devil King, not just to save the world, but to usurp his position as the most powerful being in the land.
From that day forward, the Marauder's Guild worked harder than ever before, taking on increasingly dangerous quests and battling ever-stronger monsters, much to Darkness's joy. Kazuma was determined to become the strongest anti-hero in the land, and nothing was going to stand in his way.
