After sneaking her way through the ruined city and into the woods. It was getting dark outside, so The Ghost and the woman decided to make camp for the night. After setting up her campfire, and a makeshift cooking spit, she started to prepare and cook a rabbit that she managed to snag earlier in the day.

"So, can I ask my questions now?" The girl asked her Ghost as it floated across the fire while she cooked.

"Yes." The Ghost responded.

"Okay, so what's your name?" She started with something easy.

"I don't have one. I think you're supposed to come up with one for me." The Ghost responded after beeping with inquiry.

The girl looked at it for a moment, "What about Venom? That sounds cool." The girl said as she picked a piece of charred skin off the rabbit.
The Ghost paused and processed for a moment, "Yeah! I like that!" Venom sounded pleased with his new name, "Now, a name for you…" Venom circled around the woman, inspecting her intently.

"What about Scorpion? Ya know, because scorpions have venom?" Venom seemed pleased with himself. The girl chuckled, "Sure." She said with a small smile.

"Next question?" The Ghost asked to continue the train of thought.

"Right, okay uhh…what exactly does it mean to be a Guardian?" Scorpion asked quietly. She wasn't sure why, but she felt like she needed to be quiet.

"Well," The Ghost started, "The reason that you're alive is because The Traveler deemed you to be worthy of The Light. It saw something in you, and thus gave you its favor in the form of incredible power." The Ghost finished triumphantly.

"Powers?” Scorpion stared at her hands. "What can I do?" She was incredibly eager to find out.

"You're a hunter, so you are as deadly and precise as a sharpened blade. The real question is…what can you manifest?" The Ghost looked at his Guardian curiously. Almost as if he was goading her to try something.

Scorpion stood up and walked away from the fire a few paces. She turned around to face the fire, and her Ghost, who was watching her intently. She then closed her eyes and focused, she could feel The Light coursing through her veins now. It was like a warm river seeping into her very bones. It felt as if a current of electricity was surging through her body, she opened her eyes and saw light blue sparks arcing off of her arms. She felt no pain and watched in awe as the electricity converged into her right arm and extended out of her hand. It coiled and solidified into a long staff with a sharp point at both ends, still arcing with violent Arc energy.

"The Arc staff! I knew you could do it! Be careful though, or you might-" The Ghost started to warn her but was interrupted when the lightning staff began to grow unstable in Scorpion's hand. It wasn't long before her staff burst in her hand, sending her flying a few feet before slamming her into a thick oak tree, hard. Upon impact, she cried out with little noise except the coughing grunt that escaped her mouth, along with some blood. She fell down to the ground in a heap of pain, coughing and breathing heavily through her agony.

"Oh man, are you okay?" The Ghost shouted as he flew over to her, heaving and groaning on the ground. "Here, I got you." The Ghost said before the plates on his outer shell spun around and a white light emerged from him and Scorpion could feel her cracked ribs mend and the pain fade. She wordlessly sat at the base of the Oak tree and breathed slowly, she could still feel the excess blood lining her throat. She cleared her throat and spit out some blood off to her left.

"Turns out that's a lot harder than I thought." Scorpion croaked out softly, to which her Ghost chuckled.

"Well, you have only been alive for a few hours." Venom responded, "We should probably go to bed, there's a long trip tomorrow."

Scorpion stood up slowly, using the tree as leverage. She walked back over to the fire that had gotten smaller since she had walked away. She picked up a few logs from her gathered firewood and planted it into the fire pit. She then laid down about 3 feet from the fire.

"Goodnight Venom." Scorpion said quietly with a small smile.

"Goodnight Scorpion, don't worry, I'll keep you safe." The Ghost replied, voice laced with sincerity. Scorpion smiled once again before drifting to sleep in the somber noise of the forest.
