"Soren, can I talk to you for a moment?" Luna asked her son. "Of course, mother," he responded. They sat on his bed, which hid her surprise for her son. "While I'm proud of you proving your worth to both King Scheven and True Queen, I can't help but worry for you. Thirty years ago King Scheven would have done anything to get my head on a stick, and True Queen once wanted the same thing for both me and your mother. While True Queen came around enough to let us have you, I fear King Scheven hasn't. That's why I'm giving you this." she got off the bed and pulled out the surprise. She had managed to smuggle her spear into home arrest, and handed it now to her son. The silver staff of the spear shone in the sunlight coming through the window, and the purple gems encrusted within glimmered, almost blinding them. "Your spear... Mother you don't have to, I know how much this thing means to you." he said, refusing to take it. "It's not getting any use here. It's a weapon every Lee has held since its creation. Your great-grandfather fought in the war with it, your grandfather signed the peace treaty with it leaning against his chair, and I used it in the Shiv war. While I hope that in your lifetime you'll never have to deal with anything like the past three generations of Lee's have had to, I know that with this it will help you through it and allow you to come through it stronger than you went in." she said, happy to be passing the spear along the Lee family tree. "Thank you, mother. I will carry it with pride." he said, smiling as he took the weapon.
That was only a few years ago.
But for Luna it was a moment she'd waited for for so long.
She could remember it so vividly.
And now her teen years were regaining that same vividness."Wait, Queen Anastasia! She can manipulate things, move them around, can't she?" Luna's father asked. "Yes, that's what she got from the shrine." Luna answered "But Anastasia's never done something like this before, it might be too great a feat for her." Soleil answered. "What's too great a feat for me?" Anastasia asked, Ideus by her side. "Fixing the canyon. It's washed away by now, but you couldn't perchance fix it, could you?" Luna's father asked. Anastasia stood stunned at the request, unsure of herself now. "Anastasia, do you think you could?" Soleil asked. Luna stepped forward to Anastasia, close enough to where only she could hear. "I know you can. I know strength, Anastasia. You've got it. And you know I don't go handing out compliments like Faormen throws confetti." she said, looking to Ideus. Anastasia nodded, and stepped to the banks. "Everyone back! Get everyone off the beach, I don't want anyone to get hurt." she yelled, and they followed her orders. While Luna wished it were her out there, she knew Anastasia would be able to do it. Once everyone was out of the way, walking back towards Zellarid, Luna rushed back to tell Anastasia.
"What if I can't do it Luna? What if I die trying and no one knows?" she asked. "I'll know. I'll be here, Anastasia. I know we don't know each other well, but Soleil has told me of you and Arlie. Ideus too seems to care about you, and I know that we can all agree that you're strong. And I know you are grieving, and I am too, but I know you can do this. Maybe some of us haven't been using our new power to the fullest we can, but this is your chance to do something with what all the Archiers have planned for you to do. And I, Luna Lee, am right here for you Anastasia Archier. If you fall, I'll pick you back up and we'll start again. I know you still have a wound, but remember your strength from before it. It'll trick your brain into forgetting it's there. Now do this, for Ideus, Arlie, Soleil, Zellarid, Mieirejar, for Iphica."
Anastasia nodded at Luna's powerful speech, and took a deep breath. She looked out to the sea where the large parts of land were slowly floating away. She clawed her hands, and Luna saw new strength enter her. She got to work, and slowly the first hunk of land was returned to it's spot. Anastasia seemed out of breath and like she was about to pass out. Luna grabbed her shoulders and shook her. "Stay with me, Anastasia. You can do this, you have to do this. When we're done you can go home. It's been eight months, don't you want home?" Anastasia nodded and got back to work. She screamed in agony, but kept going. "You're almost there Anastasia, you're almost there. Just keep going!" Luna yelled. Soleil's done this. She's the reason I know what to say. If she is my downfall, let me fall. But Iphica will come back together because of Anastasia, who I'll keep together so long as Soleil can speak through me.
Anastasia collapsed into the sand. It's done, but at what price? Luna thought as she picked up Anastasia. She ran back to normal land, and handed her off to Arlie. "It's done, she's fixed it all." Luna announced as she returned. She ran to hug Soleil, and told her that she had spoken Anastasia into being able to fix it all. "I wouldn't have had the words without you." she told Soleil, who smiled at the notion before kissing her.
