After Uriah and Athos have both recovered from their time as prisoners of the Pure Ones, they headed towards the Tyto Forest after Soren have told him that his family's hollow might be destroyed, but there might be something that they could find. The five owls and the eagle immediately took heed of Soren's words and headed to Tyto Forest as quickly as they could.
Storm saw an amazingly beautiful sight had met her eyes. The moon was rising behind the mountains, the whole country below them lay in the evening light — forests, mountains, hills, valleys, and winding away like a silver-blue snake, the lower part of the River Hoole. Miles away was the shimmering and starlit ocean, the deep sapphire blue sky is filled with pale orange and yellow clouds in the reflection of the sunset. But just where the land of Tyto met the shimmering ocean — at the mouth of the River Hoole.
"This forest is just so vast," said Parzival. "How are we ever supposed to..."
"Wait a second." Storm and her band came to a stop near the shadows of the rocks. "See those owls?" They soon saw the owls that Storm spotted. There's about twelve of them, wearing helmets and have glowing red eyes.
"Pure Ones." Athos glared at those owls murderously.
"We have to hide ourselves before they spot us!" Parzival looked on an edge of a panic.
But Storm has other ideas when she saw those owls. If there's Pure Ones here, that could possibly mean that they put up some sort of contraption up nearby and probably captured some owls for resisting the Pure Ones. "No." Everyone turned to look at her. "We should follow them. They probably did something terrible in the forest and it has to be undone."
Shard nodded. "That makes sense."
"I have a bad feeling about this," grumbled Parzival.
But the six of them started following the Pure Ones secretly. The lack of moonlight had helped them from being noticed. They caught some strong winds. But Storm was growing more worried as the Pure Ones started leading them to the mountains. As they followed the Pure Ones through the cloud-bank and towards a pair of mountains, Storm's hunch was turned to be correct.
"Look! There's a bunch of Tytos locked up over there." There was a tree holding a structure that serves like a multiple cage-holders with five owls trapped inside of those cages. But the trapped owls were guarded by the Pure Ones.
"See?" Storm smirked at Parzival playfully. "It was worth it."
"You got lucky," said Parzival grumpily.
But unfortunately for them, they were spotted by the Pure Ones. "There's no escape now, Guardians!" The Pure Ones started flying towards them.
"Look out!" yelled one of the trapped Tytos. "They're about to attack!"
The Band started flying towards the opposing side. Both sides collided into each other with outstretched talons. The Band have gained the upper talon over the Pure Ones. Storm started attacking the Pure Ones. Shard took out a number of Pure Ones with his attacks. Parzival knocked took out some Pure Ones. Streak knocked out some Pure Ones from the air. Uriah have managed to take on some Pure Ones. While Athos have managed to take down some Pure Ones.
But the trapped owl noticed that the leader (she assumes that the young barn owl is the leader) have ended up being the closest owl to the structure. "Swipe the ropes on our cages, Sport!"
Storm finished the crow and met the trapped owl's eyes firmly. "We need to get out of here before anymore Pure Ones appear." She nodded and flew towards the ropes of the prison structure. She pulled out a talons and started breaking the ropes.
"I owe you one, Sport." The female owl flew out of her cage and waited for Storm to finish freeing the other owls.
"Thanks so much!" The male owl flew out of the cage.
"We're free, thank Glaux!" The other male owl flew out of his cage.
"Thank you, Guardian." The other female owl flew out of her cage.
"Thanks for freeing me." The third male owl flew out of his cage too.
"Everyone is free." The Team and the freed owls surrounded the brave one who has been calling Storm "Sport." "There's no time to waste... We need to get to our headquarters."
The owls (and the eagle) started flying with the escapees towards their hideout. They flew through the rocky hills with the owls. It wasn't long till they have arrived to a tree that seemed partially cut down. Storm soon spotted the friendly Tyto owl with a bodyguard(?) flying over the tree and watched as Storm approached them.
"Good on ya," said the Tyto. "I'm Bryony." She smiled at Storm warmly. "Glad you came along when you did. That was a bit of all right flying back there, Sport."
"My name's actually Storm," admitted Storm.
"Right." Bryony nodded. "You hail from the Tree, do ya?"
"The Ga'Hoole Tree," corrected Storm. "And yes, we do." Storm smiled as her friends rested on the branches of the tree hideout, but was watching them.
"Nice, nice." Bryony sounded pretty calm and impressed, though she holds herself as a leader. "Well, Sport, welcome to The Resistance!" A pair of owls flew into the tree. "We'd love to have you come along and lend a talon, if you could." Bryony glanced at the mountains warily. "As you can see... it's been gettin' a bit hairy around here of late."
