A couple of hours had passed. Carina was sitting on the couch watching an Italian soap opera while Maya was sitting at the dining room table trying to get some paperwork done. The wives suddenly heard the doorbell ring.

Carina turned and looked at Maya, "Were you expecting someone, bambina?"

Maya shook her head, "No, love. I'll go get it."

Maya stood up from the dining room table and walked towards the front door. She reached for the handle, opened the door, and standing outside she saw a teenage boy.

"Ummm, hi. Can I help you?" Maya asked the boy.

Carina had gotten up off the couch at this point and made her way over to Maya to see what was happening.

The teenager nervously responded, "Hi Mrs. and Mrs. DeLuca-Bishop. I'm Jordan. I'm here to pick KJ up, but I wanted to come and introduce myself to you both."

Maya looked a little shocked, as this was completely unexpected. Maya stood there speechless.

Carina broke the silence, "Well, hi. It's so nice to meet you. Please, come in!"

Maya and Carina both took a step backwards to let the teenage boy enter the foyer. Maya still hadn't found her words yet, so Carina attempted to carry on the conversation, "Does Karter know you're here?"

"I texted her to let her know I was on my way, but I don't think she knows that I'm here," Jordan responded to Carina.

"Okay, let me go get her quick and let her know you're here!" Carina exclaimed.

Jordan gave Carina a soft smile, "That would be great. Thank you."

Carina had walked up the stairs to find KJ and let her know her boyfriend was downstairs, leaving Maya alone with Jordan.

Maya finally found her words, "So, Jordan, what are you and KJ planning on doing today?"

Jordan looked down towards Maya as he was quite a bit taller than her. He put his hands in his pockets and seemed slightly nervous.

"Well, I know this cool park with a little pond and fountain, so I think we're going to go there and eat some food, and KJ mentioned wanting to go roller skating, so we'll probably do that afterward," Jordan said shyly.

Maya paused a little awkwardly and stared the boy down a little bit before she replied, "That sounds like fun. How did you two meet?"

"We have a couple of classes together and have seen each other walking the halls at school. I finally got up the nerve to talk to her during class one day, and we haven't stopped talking since," Jordan told Maya as he smiled the whole time he told the story.

Just as he finished telling Maya how he and KJ met, Karter came rushing down the stairs, slightly panicking. She knew how protective and overbearing her mom was and didn't want her to scare Jordan away.

"Hey, J. I could've met you at the car," KJ said to her boyfriend as she laughed nervously to try to get rid of the awkward tension that could be felt by everyone in the room.

Jordan smiled and leaned over and gave KJ a kiss on the cheek, "I know, but I wanted to introduce myself to your moms, so I decided I'd just come get you."

KJ grabbed Jordan's hand and started to drag him to the door so she could try to escape her moms before they said or asked anything else.

"Alright, well we're gonna go moms. I'll see you later," KJ said rushed as she threw on her shoes as fast as she could.

Carina chuckled realizing how anxious KJ was about the whole situation. Jordan turned around at the door and said, "It was really nice to meet you Mrs. and Mrs. DeLuca-Bishop."

"Please, call me Carina!" Carina told the teenager.

"You can call me Cap-" Maya was cut off by her wife's elbow being jammed into her ribs. "Maya. You can call me Maya," she said as she saw the stern look her wife was giving her.

Carina continued to say, "It was so nice to meet you Jordan. I'm sure we'll be seeing you around." Carina then turned to her daughter to give her a hug.

As KJ and Jordan began to walk out the door Maya yelled, "Remember, be home by 10 P.M Karter!"

Carina rolled her eyes at her wife and playfully pushed Maya away from the door.

"You can call me Captain Bishop?" Carina questioned her wife. "Really, bambina," Carina giggled at her wife.

Maya shrugged her shoulders, "Whatttt! I don't know him yet! Are we really on a first name basis?"

"Maya, he is not one of your firefighters," Carina continued to giggle, "He is our daughter's boyfriend!"

Maya let out a small giggle and admitted, "I just wanted to try and intimidate him a little bit!"

Carina shook her head playfully at her ridiculous wife and said, "Dios Mio, bambina!"

Maya and Carina both returned to what they were doing before the slightly awkward interaction with the teenage boy. As Maya sat back at the table Carina turned to her from the couch and said, "That was very respectful of him to come and introduce himself to us. I'm slightly impressed."

Maya gave her wife a look of disapproval.

"He's a teenage boy. He's trying to do whatever he can to get into our daughter's pants," Maya mumbled.

Carina's mouth dropped open and she yelled, "Maya! That is not true! You are terrible!"

"Wellllll, that's what most teenage boys want!" Maya shot back with a frustrated laugh.

"I thought he seemed like a nice boy!" Carina said as she disagreed with Maya's perception.

Maya looked over at her wife and softened her eyes as she said, "I didn't say he wasn't a nice boy. I just don't want Karter to get hurt. She's my baby girl."

"I don't want her to get hurt either, bambina, but she's not going to learn if she doesn't have those experiences," Carina reassured her wife.

Maya sighed, "I know. I just wish I could protect her from everything."

"Me too, bambina. Now you better get back to work, CAPTAIN Bishop," Carina said as she emphasized the word captain.

Maya threw her head back and laughed, then shot back, "That's Captain DeLuca-Bishop to you Dr. DeLuca-Bishop."
