Thank you very much for all the kudos and views, everyone! It feels great to finally get this story off the ground instead of it gathering dust in my drive and it's all thanks to you all reading and motivating me. ;u;
And Fun Fact: The canon name of the insert character is Rowan. But of course, it can be anything you want since it is a reader-insert story~
I've already pre-planned out plenty of chapters for this story, it's just that I'm so crunched for time during weekdays and not because I started playing BOTW again and Cult of the Lamb, lol. Regardless, I am having way too much fun writing this and again I can't thank you all enough for the support, it really makes my day seeing notifications in my inbox from you all, thank you!
PS: I also have a Devil May Cry and Stardew Valley reader insert stories in works, so keep an eye out for their debuts~

Being a mortal sucked, infinitely and eternally. That was the only thing you could think of right now. You aged and grew wrinkly, you experienced aches and pains like no other, having no sleep could potentially kill you, having too much sleep makes you sluggish, and oh yeah, you have to constantly watch what you eat or risk becoming an addict to your favorite snacks. Not to mention that a majority of mortals were just so unintelligent and annoying. Seriously, how could Hylia and the Hero deal with this every century? This was torture of the highest caliber, just downright evil. Despicable. And if this was the peak of evil, then Hima must be a demon from the lowest of low pits of hell.
"Get back here you little heathen!" You shout in frustration giving chase to the creature. Sweat clung to your forehead and your lungs burned as you ran at full speed. The little bastard thought it would be clever to lead you through the thickest of bushes, some with needles and the busiest parts of the neighboring village. What more could you ask for?
But you weren't alone, no. The blazing summer sun was there to beam down on you and soak your shirt with even more sweat. Oh that damn mouse. But, believe or not you were an animal lover. You'd spend countless hours laying in your personal garden back home with your pet blupee Nuri. Oh those were the days...so peaceful, calm, and free of gross sweat and beaming heat. But in this particular moment, you could only think of doing the most violent of things to your sister's familiar. Perhaps you would feed her to the tiger the two of you shared?
Your legs felt as if they were going to fall off at any moment and your muscles ache to the heavens you used to call home. Even when she was in trouble, Hylia still found a way to annoy you, almost as if it were her sisterly duty to. You clench your jaw shoving past a group of wayfarers and locals, your sight locked in on the plump creature just mere inches away. Why, why were things always like this for you? Always so difficult and task provoking and only when you least expected them or wanted. Something had to give. Just what big sis planning for you? Of course she wouldn't directly lead you, there always had to be unexpected to keep you on your toes.
Speaking of the unexpected, you nearly came close to falling into a large pit just now. You held your breath peering into the gaping hole, sweat dripping down to your cupid's bow. Though frozen, you wanted to laugh out the sheer ridiculousness of your current situation. This was the moment that took the cake for you. Your sister, dear gracious Hylia was trying to kill you...no one could tell you otherwise. She had the perfect set up for it too, having you chase after one of her familiars and then falling into a bottomless pit. What the actual fuck.
You lean a little forward, steadying yourself around the rim. You furrow your brow and curl your lip into a snarl looking up to the heavens. "This shit isn't funny, Hylia!" You screamed at the top of your lungs. She was going to get the mouth of every insult and cuss word in the book for this little stunt. "Why do you have to be such a bitc–"
