I hope you like it, I didn't really know what to write sorry stu41ol0_10v3r

For the past five minutes, Y/n had been struggling to fit all her books neatly into her locker. Every time they all fit, one of them would slip and send it all collapsing. She had been so concentrated that not once, did she notice Stu leaning against one of the lockers beside her.

He loved watching Y/n hopelessly fail at the simplest of things, waiting for his time to come to her rescue. Once a frustrated groan escaped her mouth, he finally came to her aid. Moving over to the other side of her, he reached his arms out and helped her.

Only then did she realise he had been watching her the entire time. It was so obvious with that playful smirk plastered on his face, and even though she wanted to be mad at him, how could she? He had that charming affect.

"You could've helped me earlier. Save me the embarrassment." Y/n complained, slamming her locker shut.

"Where's the fun in that!" He joked, frowning dramatically before flashing her a toothy grin. In response she rolled her eyes, but couldn't stop the smile that creeped onto her face. That's when he knew it was safe to touch her without being slapped or shoved. "I missed you."

"You saw me an hour ago!"

"That's too long." Stu huffed, holding his arms out for a hug which she gladly allowed. Although she figured that he was going to tell her bad news. She didn't know why, it was just a gut feeling but it did make sense. Lately he had been acting weird. Weirder than his usual eccentric self. He was always weird just a different type of weird.

Maybe it was because of everything that had been happening lately. Casey Becker and Steven Orth were found brutally killed in Casey's backyard. Similar to what happened with Sidney's mom a year ago but no one thought much of it being connected.

"The party's been canceled." He blurted out before Y/n pulled herself away from him. "My parents found out somehow. Then continued to lecture me about how stupid I was for hosting a party, while cold-blooded killers ran loose."

"That's a shame."

"No duh." Stu sassed, leaning his head down so his gaze was focused on the ground. Y/n was about to ask him what was wrong until they were interrupted by a specific blonde, Tatum. She could have sworn she heard Stu sigh in relief but chose to brush it away.

"What we talking about?" Tatum asked, crossing her arms while rocking back and forth on her heels. There was an awkward tension circulating between the three. Everyone knew about Stu and Tatum's short relationship that ended in flames because he had moved on so quickly.

He argued that he did have feelings for Tatum at some point, but they never compared to how he felt about Y/n. She had been one of his closest friends since anyone could remember so there was no doubt he fell in love with her.

"Just how the party was canceled." Stu finally said, kicking Tatum's foot when she was about to add something of her own. Then the two exchanged looks that only made Y/n's curiosity grow. What was going on between them? "Well I'll see you later."

He kissed Y/n on the cheek before leaving the two girls alone. Of course Y/n and Tatum were still friends, since both of them had been in the same friend group for years, but ever since Stu broke up with Tatum, things have been a little tense. It was expected but Y/n wouldn't change it for the world.

——

It was later that day around the time that Stu's party would've started. But obviously that's if his parents didn't ruin the plans. Y/n took this as a chance to hopefully spend some time with her boyfriend. So after packing some snacks that's what was running through her mind.

Although when she approached his house, there were more cars than she could count, parked along the road and on his driveway. Either the party was back on last minute and he forgot to inform her, or he was just lying to her.

Once she finally found some parking, Y/n rushed up the front steps and made her way through the crowded hallway. Her objective was to find Stu, yell at him a bit to get answers about what was going on, yell at him some more when he gave her a stupid excuse. Then go back home to drown herself in sorrow because her boyfriend had lied to her.

Luckily for her it didn't take long as Stu bumped into her while coming out from a room, Tatum following closely behind him. It didn't take a genius to guess what would've gone down and just thinking about it broke her heart.

"Y/n, Y/n!" He repeated, only realising the second time that it was in fact her. Even though he remembered telling her it was canceled. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask the same about the hundreds of other people hanging around." She was upset, angry but most of all confused. Why would he lie to her about this? "Of course I find you with her at a party I wasn't supposed to know about."

"It's not what it looks like. Who am I kidding, it's exactly what it looks like, but I have a great explanation." While he was trying to get her to wait and let him talk, he kept reaching out to her with his hand and every time she stepped back as if his touch was poisonous.

In a way it was because she was afraid the second he held her hand or embraced her in a hug, she'd give in to him. That wouldn't be fair, it wouldn't be fair to herself. She didn't deserve to be treated this way and Stu wasn't an exception.

"Save your excuses Stu, I'm sick of them." Y/n turned around, pushing everyone aside so she could make it to the front door. Behind her, Stu had been repeatedly yelling her name over the deafening crowd but it was no use.

He stopped following her once she made it out onto the footpath. Part of her was hoping he'd chase after her till she stopped, but he didn't which slimmed any chance of her forgiving him. Maybe he didn't care about her as much as she had thought.

"I'm sorry Y/n." Is all she heard before walking back to her car and going home.

In fact, that was the last thing she ever heard him say because the next morning everyone had found out about what went down. Half her friends had been killed, two of them were the ones terrorising Woodsboro. One of them being Stu.

That's when everything started to make sense. Why he'd been acting so weird, why she wasn't supposed to be at the party. If she stayed, she probably would've ended up like Tatum or seriously injured like Randy. Stu had spared her life because Billy probably wouldn't have been as generous, considering he tried to kill his own girlfriend.

But Y/n couldn't stop thinking, what would've happened if she did stay. Could it have been different? Maybe she could've stopped Stu and then he would still be alive. Or at least have tried to sort things out with him so the last time they ever talked wasn't an argument.  And because she could never find out, there would always be an emptiness inside of her.
