Lloyd held onto Y/N's limp body as if his life depended on it.

his breathing was heavy and his vision grew blurry with each passing second but his grip remained steadfast,  how could he let this happen? He knew he should have fought harder to keep her in the competition so why didn't he? He was supposed to keep her safe and for the first time in a very long time

Lloyd felt like a failure

the colour had drained from her skin leaving her painted in a sickly grey hue and her cheeks were sunken in like she hadn't eaten in days. If it wasn't for the slow rise and fall of her chest, so soft that even with his heightened senses Lloyd almost missed it, he would have thought she was dead.

chaos ensued around them but his focus was planted on the girl in his arms whispering soft pleas for her to wake up and say it was all a joke, some cruel prank on him even though it was far from funny.

"Please..." he sobbed a single tear slipped down his cheek and dripped onto her face. looking around Lloyd could feel the world closing in around him, his chest felt tight and his shaky hands were slowly losing their feeling.
God please don't die not now

Please...

Please...

Please...

....

Lloyd didn't notice the buzzing sound that surrounded them, nor did he see Kai break the staff of elements. He didn't notice the haze of pastel pink float towards him or how Clause was slowly stalking up to him a blade in hand. His eyes were screwed shut, his body quivering and his ears ringing. He didn't bother with the strangely distant voices calling him, right now the most important thing on his mind was her

Just her

Only her

"L... Wa.... Out"
"Ll..... You ...av... To  m....ve"
"LLOYD MOVE!"

Right as a sword came crashing down over him, its path set on his head ready to slice him in half a bright light flashed blinding everyone around them for a split second. Clause's face went pale when he saw the figure in front of him, the black dots in his vision slowly clearing up only to reveal Y/N standing before him. Bare hand holding the sharp end of the blade her eyes glowing like they do when she uses her element except this time they were much brighter almost white instead of their usual pink. More importantly, she was VERY MUCH ALIVE. Clause let go of the hilt and the sword clattered to the floor as she slowly walked towards him while he backed away from her. She said nothing, her face held no emotion and for once all Clause could feel was fear.

Lloyd, sensing the lack of a presence in his arms looked up to see the back of a girl with pink hair.
Wait but Y/N doesn't have pink hair

It was only when he heard her voice that he realized it was indeed her and he felt a flutter of hope in his chest, he breathed a sigh of relief that she was alive, the cracks in his heart at the thought of her death disappearing slightly
Lloyd's teammates all rushed to get him up onto his feet, he had to help otherwise they were all done for but Lloyd wouldn't move. He watched her throw punch after punch pink crystal emerging from the ground following the movement of her fists as she stalked up to the dark arts master.

"you put us through hell, you turned us against each other. You took my brother from me and for that, you must be punished" It didn't sound like Y/N sure it was her voice, Lloyd heard it loud and clear but her tone, her words sounded like someone else, someone with a hardened heart void of all mercy. Regardless all he could feel was awe, he could never be scared of her hell he never would be. Throughout the competition, she had refused to use her element and if she was forced to she hardly used it. Now Clause was getting the brunt of her power at full force and Lloyd almost felt sorry for the guy

Almost

Y/N grumbled in anger when the man turned tail and ran, turning around to look at the rest of the anacondrai worshipers they also cut their losses and ran before she could even lay an eye on them. They saw what had just happened, everyone saw it. When she realized the enemy wasn't in the temple anymore the glowing in her eyes died down until it was replaced by its usual happy pink glow and the massive shards of crystal protruding from the ground drew back leaving no trace that they were ever there in the first place

"wh- what happened?" she asked confused clutching her head with her hands as a raging headache hit her like a train
"I think you happened sis" Cole laughed jogging up to her to wrap her in his arms. The rest of the group joined, hugging in both delight and relief but they all knew the fight wasn't over yet.

No
This was only the beginning.
